Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha The MOVIE 2nd A's

Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha
The MOVIE 2nd A's

As with the first ever Nanoha movie two years ago, the second chapter of the Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha story has given it a silverscreen treatment and Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha the Movie 2nd A's (日本名:魔法少女リリカルなのはthe Movie 2nd A's) was made to be as interesting as the first one two years ago.

Just like in the TV series, Nanoha Takamachi (played by Yukari Tamura) and Fate Testarossa (played by Nana Mizuki) are now friends and they share stories about what's going on in their world and the Time-Space Administration Bureau. Upon Fate's comeback, Nanoha and the gang faced the Belkan Knights; consisting of Signum, Vita, Shamal, and Zafira, who are ordered to fill the pages of the Book of Darkness and defend their master who is none other than Hayate Yagami. Nanoha, Fate, and the Time-Space Administration Bureau are on a mission to discover what lurks behind the Book of Darkness, the Belkan Knights, and the master.

Although it feels the same as the second Nanoha TV series but because it was remastered for silverscreen use, it packs more cuteness, more humor, and more thrills that the TV series never had. From every angle of the movie, this movie adaptation of the second series is just the perfect balance of lunacy, appeal, and the X factor Nanoha fans really need.

To be honest, this is the best movie to watch during a rainy Japanese summer holiday and the soundtrack wasn't bad either. Couple that with the opening theme song, which titled BRIGHT STREAM by Nana Mizuki, and the closing theme song, which titled 微笑みのプルマージュ by Yukari Tamura, and you have an astonishing feast to enjoy the whole movie.

Let's Do The News! (July 14, 2012)

Seriously, Forza did made a mistake that the CTR2 is rear-wheel drive instead of four-wheel drive as Gran Turismo depicted it.

Why is that possible. I checked in various websites that the RUF CTR2 is a rear-engine four-wheel drive car but how can we state that this car is RWD instead of 4WD?

It's complicated but as told earlier, the RWD layout for the CTR2 is standard but the 4WD feature was an option. Sadly, we don't have the conversion to do so...

(awwww)

That's all bull to us but hey...this is the first time we encountered a mistake. Anyway, let's do the news!

Right and guess what? The Aston Martin V12 Vantage gets a roadster variant. There it is, look...

2013 Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster

You get the same features and the same 6.0L V12 engine but now, it's a roadster version so you can drive it with the roof off, making it a perfect long distance cruiser with the wind blowing over you.

That bothered me about the V12 Vantage. This is the car that Jeremy Clarkson thinks that its the end of supercars as we know it. This here, is an alternate ending to the Series 13 finale of Top Gear. Get it? Alternate ending. The V12 Vantage Roadster alters up to Jeremy's sad story

(audience laughing)

Some say, Aston Martin took three years to prepare a roadster version of the V12 Vantage, unlike the McLaren MP4-12C Spider that took them one year.

Three years? What's the result?

The same as the hardtop model.

(audience laughing)

Anyway, mga mars! What's next?

You guys heard that Slovenia now made a supercar and oh my...this one's called the Tushek Renovatio T500.

Tushek Renovatio T500
Tushek Renovatio T500

Slovenia? I never heard of that country before. Anyway, is it European?

It is. Right in the heart of Europe, next to Italy, Austria, Hungary and Croatia. Not to be confused with Slovakia, which of course, the home of Dracula.

(audience laughing)

You may also remember that a few years ago, Pinoy Big Brother swapped one of their housemates with some one of the housemates from the Slovenian version of Big Brother.

Oh wait, I get it now! Anyway, what's what about this....Tushek Renovatio T500? Feels more Ridge Racer-ish by the looks of it but it appears it was designed by some Amazonas...

(audience laughing)

This new kid on the block has a 4.2L V8 engine that produces 450bhp @ 7,900rpm of power, 428Nm @ 3,200rpm of torque, 0-62mph in 3.7sec, and top speed 193mph. It's mated with a 6-speed transmission from the S5.

I see, some bits of Audi were on it but anyway, what's the price?

300,000 Euros or about 15,407,700 Philippine Pesos but it's limited to 30 units available because they're working on a new machine. Sadly for me, this car won't be perfect to park at the Monte Carlo casino square or impress a girl who dressed as Doctor Who's Amy Pond.

(audience laughing)

You're saying it again! You kept saying the Amy Pond name! Why do you keep on mentioning that Doctor Who character?! (laughinig) What? Do you have a crush on her?! Bad news. Someone's having a crush on Miss Karen Gillan...

What are you talking about? Few days ago, BBC America's ANGLOPHENIA blog did post an article about how to dress like Amy Pond from Doctor Who. I even tried to think that aside from having a girl dressed as Amy Pond to bring at a convention, I had to think that it could be perfect to pose next to a really really fast car, especially exotics.

Yeah right. You're just imagining Amy Pond like Ridge Racer's Reiko Nagase with a million times more manageable. TINDI MO, TOL! TINDI MO!

(audience laughing)

Tindi? No, this is just a way for spending too much time hooking on BBC. In my mind, I'm picturing something...Some lucky gal dressed as Doctor Who's Amelia Jessica Pond posed herself next to something Italian, something German, something British, something American, and something French...

Uh, you're talking about supercars, right?

Bing! You're correct. As told many times, Doctor Who's Amy Pond is our Ridge Racer's Reiko Nagase with a million times more manageable. Having a gal dressed as Amelia Pond posing next to a hot car and what do you call?

Uh...something rubbish?

Nope. It's called ♫MOVIN TO THE BEAT! MOVIN TO THE BEAT! STEP BACK TO RIDGE RACER!♫

(audience laughing)

Okay, what's next, have her sitting to the Ariel Atom V8 while you drive and have her face blown off?

(audience laughing)

Anyway, forget about it and let's move on because mga mars, TVR, British automaker run by some wealthy Russian business boy, some say it was revived to have Corvette-sourced engines on it but we heard the news that TVR axed plans to restart production, which is a shame but whatever.

(awww)

Can't believe that TVR is officially officially no more but hey what comes next?

Some say, the wealthy Russian business boy, Nikolay Smolensky, focusing assets on...wind turbines?

(wow)

Wind turbines? TVR will be focusing on wind turbines?! Very funny...

Oh wait, here's a letter from Top Gear to TVR...

Dear TVR,

We read the news yesterday of the end of the TVR badge on anything other than wind turbines. It was upsetting. But have you thought this through?

Because we've just discovered this. It's called the Blackbird and it combines both ends of your disparate businesses. On the one hand, it is a car (well, a land yacht). On the other, it is a wind turbine.

It's fast, too. And, not unlike some of the older TVRs, a bit baffling. It was developed specifically to prove that it is possible to sail dead downwind faster than the wind , powered by the wind only. Which surely bends the laws of physics to breaking point, but such a beast has been built, tested, and works.

On July 2, 2010, Blackbird set the world's first certified record for going directly downwind, faster than the wind, using only power from the wind. Then, earlier this month, Blackbird boss, Rick Cavallaro, and his team went to California and clocked a top speed 2.01 times faster than the wind speed when headed upwind.

So there you go - wind turbines and cars in perfect environmental harmony. And you can watch it below.

Yours sincerely, TopGear.com

That was awkward to see that. Can't believe TVR moved on from cars to wind turbines. (laughing)

(audience laughing)

Anyway, while waiting for the next Golf, SEAT, which is the Spanish arm of the Volkswagen Group, unveiled the next generation of SEAT LEON, which is the first to use VW's MQB Platform. Here's the pic...

2013 Seat Leon Mk3

Nuevo Seat Leon....it's kinda like the enlarged version of the facelifted Ibiza Mk4 to us but hey, good job for that, first to use VW's MQB platform.

No doubt about it but hey, is this new Seat Leon Mk3 going to be that good in these conditions? Well, you know, Spain is taking a battering during the Euro debt crisis and downgrades, but is this new model going to work even though its homeland is in deep financial woes?

Not quite sure but let's just wait. Moving on, now Oxigin, a German aftermarket firm, paid tribute to the legendary Gulf livery and smothered it on the 997 Porsche 911. Here's the pic

Oxigin 911

Although, no further details for now but this Oxigin 911 is more of a tribute rather than being just a modified version of the...911 Sport Classic?!

From the looks of it, we think it is. It does look like a modified version of the 911 Sport Classic but my gosh, I wanna have one...

(audience laughing)

Anyway, more of the tuning scene and now, famed BMW tuner, AC Schnitzer, got bored on what to do on the all new 2013 BMW 6-Series Gran Coupe and now, they made the F06 some new clothes and the result is this...

AC Schnitzer Gran Coupe

(oooohhh)

My gosh, that never looked good!

What they did is some engine upgrades, available sports exhaust system with a set of chrome-trimmed tailpipes, performance braking system with 8-piston fixed calipers and a sports suspension with a lowering spring kit, aero kits, and a selection of 19-, 20- and 21-inch alloy wheels in a choice of different designs.

I have to say that this AC Schnitzer Gran Coupe is perfect enough to wow the crowd, even those who drive were a bunch of bling bling idiots in their baseball caps reversed.

(audience laughing)

We getting a bit hungry right now aren't we?

Right, so what should we eat?

How about some cheese top burger?

CHEESE TOP BURGER? WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?

I don't know. Couple of months ago, I heard that KFC Philippines made the world's first hamburger that has chess on top, which is the CHEESE TOP BURGER. I know it's a bit idiotic to come up with that but hey, this was the most unique hamburger I have ever heard.

Cheese top burger? That's a crazy idea. What's next? Chicken in softdrinks?

(audience laughing)

That's gross. Anyway eating a cheese top burger can be a bit messy because of the cheese on top...Get it?

I really don't want to eat a cheese top burger.

(audience laughing)

Okay, forget about cheese top and move on because I heard from someone that Haagen-Dazs, the brand that offered the expensive but classy ice creams we love, shutting down their Philippine operations, which made us sad to hear that.

Haagen-Dazs is closing down in the Philippines

Can't believe that Haagen-Dazs is withdrawing their Philippine operations. Why?

Because the sales are a bit too sluggish and in today's economy, there's no room for this. We only buy Selecta, Nestle Ice Cream, and others but not Haagen-Dazs because they a bit too expensive.

Aw man....

(awwww)

Anyway, before we left, I just wanna say that back in February, I drove Rampage Jackson's Challenger, and I found out that it wasn't that bad for a car owned by some mixed martial artist. Can't believe that a few months ago that Rampage Jackson watched the most disappointing Pacquiao Bradley fight. Anyway, let's see how fast Rampage's SRT8 goes around the Top Gear Test Track...

We assure that Rampage's SRT8 did it in 1L25.161. Anyway, though I just heard that pre-orders for the Forza Horizon game are now up and I picked up that when you pre-ordered one now, you'll receive a code for the specially designed Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 for use in FM4.

So, where are you going to preorder Horizon?

Amazon.com but it appears that the Forza Horizon Limited Edition wasn't listed on Amazon.com so I have to wait.

Okay then.

Right, so THAT'S THE NEWS!

"Personalan" with the RUF CTR2

Back in 1995, RUF had a dilemma; How do you improve upon the extraordinary brilliant CTR Yellowbird? The answer was this, the RUF CTR2.

993-based CTR2 is shining through

The CTR2 is a Porsche 993-based sportscar that follows the CTR's footsteps. Most of the body panels were swapped for carbon-fiber or Kevlar ones for weight loss. The interior comes with a rollcage to make it sturdy as if it was not free-standing but integrated to the cabin.

It comes with a custom-built KKK twin-turbo armed to the 3.6L B6 that generates 513HP of power and 505.5ft-lb of torque.

Too much grip...

Although the Porsche 6-speed MT was standard, RUF offer them an optional electronic clutch system called EKS. The standard CTR2 is rear wheel drive but a 4WD layout is an optional feature.

There was a track-only CTR2 and a road-legal CTR2 Sport as well. Both come with new bodies but the race-spec CTR2 comes with a Spec II unit that generates 533HP.

Stig in the CTR2

Now as you may saying, oh my gosh, this is just like what happened to the Mazda 787B, they stole this car from GRAN TURISMO, (gasp). For an eagle-eyed player may have spotted the problems about the CTR2 because that one we have on GRAN TURISMO is 4WD but this CTR2 we have in Forza, that's RWD. Yep, RWD but did they made a mistake that they said that this is 4WD but in the game, it's RWD instead of AWD? Oh dear... but let's not forget that in reality standard CTR2 models are rear wheel drive but a 4WD layout is an optional feature. Confusing isn't it? What we have here, for the first time ever, a controversy because the RUF CTR2 supposed to be 4WD as T10 claims it but in the game, it was RWD! (Gasp)

What's next for Forza to bring? The 2000 RUF RGT? RUF 3400S? Oh no, please no. We really don't want to see one but in the meantime, time to bring this rear-wheel drive CTR2 round our track...

Welcome Back: 1995 Porsche 911 GT2

Driving the 993 GT2 is more fun...

Porsche's 993 GT2 is the stripped-out, 2WD version of the Turbo. By throwing away the 4WD layout and swapped into a RR layout, it gained benefit of significant weight savings to the competition car.

Since its launch, the road-legal GT2 comes with the same turbocharged 3.6L B6 engine as the Turbo but with higher boost pressure that resulted a 430BHP of power. Noticing on the rear deck lid of an original GT2, it says "911 GT" instead of "911 GT2", which can be somewhat misleading.

This car was used by Tyler McQuarrie from Hankook Tire drift team during the 2007 and 2008 Formula Drift Pro Series.

Driving Music (What is the name of the song on car commercial?) Vol. 39

Can't believe that after moment of peace and silence, our blog's been attacked AGAIN! This time, I'd picked up a bullet hole that leads me to the blog's severe damage that says "name of song in toyota 86 commercial."

Uh hello? There's no such thing as a Toyota 86 commercial, you know. If you look at the TOYOTA 86's official site at http://toyota.jp/86, you can see that there's no link directing to the TOYOTA 86's TV commercial. Sorry because Toyota never made an 86 commercial, yet.

What? Oh! You mean the ad from Australia? Oh sorry but really, we really don't know the name of song in Toyota 86 commercial. We tried searching for the lyrics and the results are benign. Although we heard that studio SONG ZU were responsible for the music from the Aussie Toyota 86 ad, it might be best to ask them what was the title.

Anyway, to fix this damage, we will showcase you another five DRIVING MUSICS or Car commercial songs;

5) I'm A Believer by Smash Mouth - from the Volkswagen "The Beetle" Reincarnation TV Ad

4) Execute by Excision - from the Subaru Canada BRZ Scorched TV ad

3) Ave Satani by Jerry Goldsmith - from the 1988 Opel Kadett GSi TV ad

2) Push It by Salt-N-Pepa - from the Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Commercial "Easy on the eyes" TV ad

1) Ceux Qui N'Ont Rien by Patricia Kaas - from the Honda Ascot Japanese TV Ad

...And there we are. Another set of five DRIVING MUSICS. Can't believe every moment when there's a new car commercial and when they hear some very interesting music on that ad, they keep battering my blog everytime. Instead of battering my blog, why not contact me at leopaul_delr@hotmail.com

How to dress like Amy Pond...

This is it! BBC America's ANGLOPHENIA blog (finally) posted one of the Doctor Who how to cosplay articles. This must be the moment every petrolhead wants to have their gal dress as Amelia Jessica Pond. It really is a big moment because BBC America ANGLOPHENIA blog finally told us HOW TO DRESS LIKE AMY POND. Let's read...

1: Hair – let’s be honest, if you needed me to tell you how to do this bit, you’d be fairly lost. But just in case: long and red, please. No bangs, but you can side-part the front and tuck it behind your ears. As with River Song, if you get the hair and the posture right, you’re basically there.

2: Jacket – a brown fitted leather number with elasticated cuffs and waistband.

3: Top – tight, short burgundy v-neck sweater, with a kind of crocheted neckline, under which Amy is wearing a washed out purple v-neck vest. If these are proving to be hard to find, and you have a big baggy red jumper, or a red plaid shirt (and tight blue jeans), or an open grey/blue plaid shirt with a black vest underneath, you could try those instead.

4: Below the belt area – Amy likes to get her legs out. So if you’ve got denim shorts or a denim miniskirt, dig ‘em out. And some sheer pantyhose, because you never know if it’s going to be cold in space (note: it’s ALWAYS cold in space).

5: Shoes – tan cowboy boots, although you can probably get away with Timberlands if you’re stuck. As I said, it’s all about the hair and the posture.

6: Accessories – a long burgundy scarf would be good. tan belt (if you’re going with the denim miniskirt), a small necklace and a gold bracelet. Heck, put a wedding band on too, if you really want to get in character.

It looks so composed. There's no drama out here but okay, we're thinking that it looked perfect that most people dressing as their favorite Doctor Who characters for the upcoming 2012 San Diego Comic Con. Speaking of which, there was a BBC America booth in that venue where Doctor Who stars, Matt Smith and Karen Gillan, are here for some Q&A and more regarding the upcoming season and the program's 50th year.

Speaking of which, that gave me thinking...aside from having your gal dressed as Amy Pond for conventions, what else we can use? Oh yes! A petrolhead's dream come true! HAVE A GAL WHO DRESSED AS AMY POND TO POSE NEXT TO FAST CARS! Better!

Oh wait....you're making it KALADKAREN. You're thinking that Doctor Who's Amy Pond is definitely your very own Ridge Racer's Reiko Nagase with a million times more manageable. Still, I'm glad they've posted it about how to dress like Amy Pond from Doctor Who.

A lighter, more powerful Porsche (bleep)-ster - The Cayman R

This is the first time Porsche made a model that has the letter R on it. R for responsive and refined - but most especially for racy. Introduced at the 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show, the Cayman R comes with the new body kit, new 19 inch lightweight wheels, lighter aluminium doors, lighter bucket seats, and with the removal of the radio, storage compartments, air-conditioners and door handles, it weighs 54.8 kilograms lighter than a Cayman S. Of course, a radio or aircon maybe considered options.

If it's colored lime, it feels like playing Fruit Ninja

Powered by a 3.4L B6 Direct Fuel Injection engine, this produces 330 hp (246 kW) of power and it can do 0-60 mph in 4.7 seconds, and with the optional 7-speed PDK dual clutch transmission and the Sport Chrono package, it can achieve 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds. Cayman R 6MT's top speed is 175mph while Cayman R PDK's top speed is 174mph.

Fruit Ninja-like reflexes

This car showed up in a drag race part of Top Gear's BMW 1M Coupe review alongside the Lotus Evora S and sadly, both the Cayman and the Evora lost the race against the 1M.

Getting shot by the goons?

It was also appeared on Top Gear's 2011 DVD, Top Gear at the Movies, where Richard Hammond drives the Cayman R alongside the BMW 1M in a challenge where these cars must avoid gunfire at all places. Due to spinning, the Porsche Cayman R sustained more damage than the BMW 1M.

Sure, this stripped-out version of the Cayman R may not have the luxury features from the standard Cayman but it handles brilliantly. Not too mild, not too dynamic, just a standard handling even though this is a midship Porsche, making it a decent weapon of choice for Forza players who want a better handling lightweight car but it takes skill to master this curve-cutting knife on the edge. I can't deny that even though it not as good as the BMW 1M, the Porsche Cayman R loves to slice various corners like a fruit ninja.

Nissan Fairlady Z/370Z (Z34) Phase II

When the Nissan Z34 was launched in December 2008, this new model is more dinosaur-ish and a bit more Jurassic than the old Z33 but needless to say that I was getting fascinated with this kind of model thanks to its new 6-speed SynchroRev manual transmission that combines the tactile reward of shifting your own gears with the perfectly orchestrated downshifts of an automated manual or an automatic. Now, however, there's a new version...

2013 Nissan Fairlady Z

Here it is and of course, it's very dramatic by the looks of it. This latest minor change features a number of enhancements designed to keep the legendary sports car fresh and exciting. Like the old one, the new Z34 is available in coupe, Roadster, and Version NISMO configurations.

2013 Nissan Fairlady Z

2013 Nissan Fairlady Z interior

So, what do you get for the latest minor change? Well, you can expect refreshed front fascia with vertical LED daytime running lights, red reflector added to rear fascia, revised 19-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, new 18-inch wheels, red-finished brake calipers, dark-finish fuel gauge trim, and Euro-tuned shock absorbers,

Not much of change on the VQ37VHR engine that produces 336PS of power and 365Nm of torque. It can be mated with either a 7-speed paddle shift transmission, which is kinda annoying to us, or the hairy chested 6-speed SynchroRev manual transmission that combines the tactile reward of shifting your own gears with the perfectly orchestrated downshifts of an automated manual or an automatic.

2013 Nissan Fairlady Z Version NISMO

On the Fairlady Z Version NISMO though, you can expect a race-inspired cockpit, a specially tuned suspension and unique super-lightweight forged alloy wheels. The VQ37VHR engine has been tuned to add 19PS of power to the standard engine courtesy of the exclusive H-configured exhaust system design, muffler tuning and optimized ECM (Engine Computer Module) control. The 6-speed SynchroRev manual transmission is the standard transmission available which allows rev-matched heel-toe-like downshifting while the 7-speed AT is an available option.

Depending on the variant, the new Fairlady Z Z34's available colors are; Premium Sun Flare Orange, Premium Deep Maroon, Dark Blue, Brilliant White Pearl, Brilliant Silver, Dark Metal Gray, Diamond Black, and Vibrant Red.

The new model starts at 3,675,000 Japanese Yen for the base model with 6-speed MT up to 5,240,000 Japanese Yen for the Version NISMO model with 7AT.

My comment:

With such subtle new look, we can say that the 2013 Nissan Fairlady Z Z34 in coupe, Roadster, and Version NISMO variants, are trying to look at its best since its 4-year tenure. I really want this car more than anything else because it has a high stakes to compete against the European sports cars of that size.

1980's Supercar Nirvana

The ultimate showdown between the 959 and the F40!

It was the late 1980's. The Porsche 959 and the Ferrari F40 became the ultimate supercars that reached above or beyond the 200mph mark. These two were Richard Hammond's boyhood dream and on the Series 16 finale of Top Gear, he got a chance to drive his dream cars. I can't recall seeing the two of them being together as fierce rivals but to find out, let's talk about these two; beginning with the one that was from 1987...

This 959 has a lot of gizmos....

Launched in 1986, the 959 is known to be the most advanced and technological sports car Porsche has ever made. For instance; it comes with the adjustable suspension and a complex 4WD system that you can split the power between the front and the rear wheels not just according to the grip but how you can cornering.

Thanks to the 2.9L twin turbo B6 engine that produces 331 kW (444 hp) of power, the top speed is 197mph, which in 1986 made it the fastest production car in the world.

A year later, its reign as the speed king was been short-lived thanks to this....

It's the one that gets me! Not 200 but 201!

The Ferrari F40. This car was launched in 1987 but it's more than just celebrating Ferrari's 40th anniversary. This is the car that defeated the Porsche 959 in terms of top speed because thanks to its 2.9L V6 twin-turbo engine that produces 478BHP of power, it achieved a top speed of 201mph. Another reason is because this is the first car to be ever made of carbon fiber.

This was the last car to be commissioned by the founder, Enzo Ferrari, before his death. Originally it was made for a limited run of 400 units but because this car is a whopper, about 1,315 models were produced, with the last one being produced in the year 1992.

Both these cars have 2.9 liters. Both have the identical power. Both have twin turbos. But with these top speed differences, it can be quite challenging to figure out which of these two are the best. As observed on the 1980s Supercar Powertest episode from Top Gear...

ENZO WOULD NOT LIKE THAT RESULT!

It appears that the 959 defeated the F40 but as Hammond says, if his gear changes is better, these two were neck and neck. Despite that, it appears that these two never lapped round the Top Gear Test Track because of their problems. The F40 failed to start, therefore resulted a DNS or DID NOT START. Then, the Porsche 959 ended in a DNF or DID NOT FINISH because the turbos seem to be broken.

Despite these two failed to lap round the track; both the Porsche 959 and the Ferrari F40 played an important role in the supercar world. Surely the 959 is all about luxury and technology but the F40 is more of a stripped-out hyper go-kart with absolutely no luxury at all. I can see why the world's finest supercars like the McLaren F1 and the Bugatti Veyron draw some inspiration from these two.

If the 959 and the F40 didn't made, maybe the supercar realm wasn't even existed and there was no car that can go beyond the 200mph mark. Guess we have to owe them their thanks...

Let's Do The News (July 11, 2012)

(Sigh) Who was this Papa Chen, Papa Chen, Papa Chen. Seriously, who was that Papa Chen person?

Uh, I would kinda point that out that he's that guy from MY BINONDO GIRL but Papa Chen's back in the new recently aired drama, BE CAREFUL WITH MY HEART, which also stars Jodi Sta. Maria. Richard Yap's the man who did Papa Chen on MY BINONDO GIRL by the way.

You kept mentioning the name PAPA CHEN all day long and some say you mistook that guy for Chowking. Seriously, what's up with that?

I don't know.

You're such a pillock. But anyway Ham, about Dolphy. Any remembrance that you'd remember during his tenure?

What I love about Dolphy is his pure sense of humor that warms the cockles of our hearts. Can't believe that the KING OF COMEDY is gone...forever...

Indeed it is. The KING OF COMEDY is dead, we're afraid but for almost six decades, Dolphy's involvement from TV to movies is what made him great. We should call him THE GREATEST PINOY COMEDIAN IN THE WORLD.

Greatest Pinoy Comedian in the World. No doubt about it because his qualities during is almost six-decade tenure were truly legendary. (Sigh) His kids won't be pleased about this...

So is everyone who came in Dolphy's wake. Most people love to be inspired and most want to be like him. No other people can replace such a man with the best achievements. Anyway, REST IN PIECE Dolphy. We will never forget you and your lifetime achievements.

So, what are going to do now? Oh yes! Let's do the news!

Right and we begin with this. Mazda teases the third generation Mazda Atenza with this clip...

Wait a minute. Is this the Takeri concept.

Looks like it but no. It's NOT the Takeri because it's more than that. We believe that the next generation Mazda Atenza is the fourth model to gain the SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY and it will be the second model to come with Mazda's KODO design philosophy.

A KODO-fied Atenza, eh? Good...good....It would be even more good-looking as the....CX5 crossover which is undeniably the best Mazda SKYACTIV model ever built thanks to its SKYACTIV-D engine that promises better fuel economy.

Well, not much to tell about now for this next 2013/2014 Mazda Atenza but hey! Let's move on. Scion tC, well another year, another RELEASE SERIES and for the RELEASE SERIES 8.0...

2013 Scion tC RS 8.0

...this special Scion tC for 2012 features an Absolutely Red paint job and sports 18” wheels, a five-piece body kit and spoiler inspired by Troy Sumitomo of Five Axis/Five:AD, and paddle shifters on automatic models to go along with TRD springs and a center mount exhaust.

RED HOT! My eyes can't take it!!

Me too! I can't stand it! I think I'm gonna get myself some sore eyes!

Okay. It's a bit too nasty to give you some serious sore eyes because of its red color. Let's move on. Now as you may heard before that there was some Japanese TV show guested Korean boy group, BIGBANG. Later on, there was this portion highlighting unique superheroes from across the globe. On that list, there was one that was included and you may wanna guess who's been featured on some Japanese TV show?

(audience murmuring)

Indeed it's DARNA! DARNA's got featured at some Japanese TV show that guested BIGBANG!

Wha...what?

We never thought to see that thing coming but a Philippine superhero just got featured at some Japanese variety show! Wouldn't you believe it?

I can't believe it....No way....

And you would guess what I heard that Dyesebel TV drama, that starred Marian Rivera years ago, is going to air in Malaysia via Tonton TV...not sure but my gosh...

You would probably remember that our old favorite TV drama Mara Clara (not the one with Judy and Gladys on it, the one with Kathryn and Julia on it) was currently on air in Malaysia via TV3 but seriously. A Philippine TV drama...that doesn't work in ASEAN countries,

Surely right. Philippine TV dramas aired on foreign channels never really work. It's like making a good Philippine TV drama and then editing it so it can be shown in foreign channels. We're getting a bit blurred, right?

Yeah. We're getting blurred...But hey, enough about this and back to some more digging from the ANGLOPHENIA blog for more how to cosplay Doctor Who characters and this time, we found something that...um....

What is it?

This time, it's about...Rory Williams. Rory, who is Amy Pond's love interest and...husband. Anyway, here's how to be like him...

1: Hair – ah that lovely light brown moptop crop. Anything messier than a side-parted short-back-and-sides is fine.

2: Jacket – sleeveless dark blue gilet, not hooded. For the man of action who worries about getting a chill on his kidneys.

3: Shirt – red plaid lumberjack number. You could also go for the crimson Vampires In Venice sweater, if you want to stand out from the other Rorys. It’s the gilet that does most of the work.

4: Jeans – Straight leg, stonewashed. Nothing too fashiony.

5: Shoes – Tan suede desert boots.

6: Accessories – A wristwatch with a dark leather strap, and a hand which comes apart to reveal a gun (although this one might be tricky. There again, the rest of the outfit is so straightforward you might as well set yourself a bit of a challenge. I mean this is for Comic-Con, right? There are going to be LOADS of people dressed as Rory, and some of them will be rocking the full Roman outfit, or the soldier number with the black eyepatch. The very least you can do is cut off some of your fingers and insert a gun into the open wound, then somehow find a way to staunch the bleeding so it looks like your hand is made of plasti…oh wait, make a fake hand! Out of actual plastic! Yes, definitely do that!).

But we only like Rory when he's a LONE CENTURION. Get it? The plastic centurion stuff because he's cool when he's on that centurion look.

We know, Rory in the LONE CENTURION look is seriously cool but hey! We're almost there!

What?

Tomorrow, ANGLOPHENIA will explain on HOW TO DRESS LIKE AMY POND! We weren't kidding, BBC America's ANGLOPHENIA do mean it because tomorrow, they will explain on how to cosplay as Amy Pond and this would be best if you...bring someone who dress like Amy Pond to take a picture next to a very hot car. Get it?

Oh, I get it now. You want someone who dressed like Amy Pond to take a picture next to a sportscar like Lambos, McLarens, Paganis, Jags, Nobles, Koeniggseggigseigigisseigigisigiis.....HEY! What are you thinking? You're going to expect someone who dressed as Amy Pond to take pictures next to supercars and what was that? This is somewhat like....

...ANG REPORTER NA KALADKAREN...

Kaladkaren....Karen! Yes! But nope, we're not referring to Karen Leslie Dematera from Banana Split. But still, you'll making someone who dressed as Amy Pond as your very own...um...who was that mascot from Ridge Racer?

Reiko Nagase.

Reiko Nagase! Right! You're just imagining things because you're looking at an ultimate petrolhead dream. Have someone to look like Amy Pond from Doctor Who posing next to a supercar but where do you want to take a picture at?

The Top Gear Test Track!

WHAT?!

(laughing)

Anyway, enough about that and hey now, Chumbawamba, the group behind the popular Tubthumping with lyrics that said "get knocked down and up again". It appears that the group has been break up now. That is sad but hey, this is somewhat ironic that Chumbawamba was knocked down forever and never to be up again.

But I like that Tubthumping song. It's more like a good song if you're a boxer.

That's right and hey now, 4th Philippine International Motor Show is coming this August 16 to 19 at the World Trade Center, Manila and there will be new cars coming on that venue. We don't know what are the new cars to be featured but this would be the biggest this year.

I really want to visit there...

Yeah and just for a reminder for those who are visiting, remember, NO GIRLS! Please don't take pictures of girls modeling next to the cars. As I told you, girls are nothing more than an expensive waste of money for the car show. Do please, we don't need to see idiots taking pictures of girls posing next to the new cars because as suspect...we don't expect to have a massive search overload.

Yeah, do please picture only your friends and the cars. NOT GIRLS POSING NEXT TO THE CARS. Thank you.

That's the news!

The King of Comedy is gone...forever...

DOLPHY

The King of Comedy is gone...forever.

We heard the news that legendary comedian, Dolphy (whose real name was Rodolfo Vera Quizon Sr.) passed away at the age of 83. Some say, he died at the Makati Medical Center at 8:34PM, Tuesday, after several moments fighting against his COPD disease.

Very sad day...very sad to see a legendary face fade away in the industry.

For almost six decades, Dolphy's been around for several movies with his trademark humor and style that impresses Filipinos worldwide. He's also involved in several TV shows such as the famed John en Marsha, Home Along Da Riles, Home Along D Airport, John & Shirley, and TV5's Pidol's Wonderland.

Dolphy also released his own biography in 2008 to commemorate his 80th birthday titled "Dolphy, Hindi Ko Ito Narating Mag-Isa".

Dolphy has several awards and accolades such as the Grand Collar of the Order of the Golden Heart, Lifetime Achievement Award from Gawad Urian, Cinemanila International Film Festival, PMPC Star TV Awards, Metro Manila Film Festival (Best Actor in Father Jejemon, Best Supporting Actor in Rosario), and so on. There are too many to list about Dolphy's achievement ever since his tenure.

The only Dolphy moment I always loved is the Banayad Whiskey joke from the movie FATHER EN SON. There are various Dolphy moments we love to preserve, even his passing.

The king of comedy may be gone forever but we're sure he left traces of himself behind us...

Welcome Back: 2007 Porsche 911 GT3 RS

Now that's what he called DRIVING HEAVEN

Porsche's 911 GT3 RS (997) is known to be the lightweight XXX version of the GT3. The GT3 RS offers the same aesthetics as the standard GT3 model but it lost 20 kilos or 44 lbs of weight with the use of an adjustable rear wing made of carbon, an extra-light plastic rear window, and the use of lightweight bucket seats. The car's power-to-weight ratio, as a result, is just 4.5 kg/kW.

Lightweight versions of exotics providing the "less is more" philosophy, meaning that throwing away unnecessary stuff in the car makes it sharper and quicker. However, in the GT3 RS, I'm afraid that this is the other way around. This may be 44lbs lighter than the standard GT3 but when I pushed this TRACK DAY TOY round the Top Gear Test Track, it lapped slower than the standard model!

Never mind about that but anyway, Richard Hammond drove this on Top Gear while Jeremy Clarkson's in the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera and James May's in the road legal version of the Aston Martin V8 Vantage N24 in the search to find DRIVING HEAVEN and it ended on the way to Davos to Stelvio Pass, which is their DRIVING HEAVEN.

A more powerful version of the XFR is coming?

2012 Jaguar XFR

We heard the news that there's going to be a more powerful version of the Jaguar XFR sports saloon coming at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show this fall.

Some say, it could be called the XFR-S, which is weird because our favorite Jaguar XKR-S was the powerful version of the XKR and it's going to happen to the XFR.

No further details for now but once it's here, we think that this could be Jaguar's answer to the BMW M5 F10 and the Benz E63 AMG 5.5L V8 BiTurbo.

Welcome Back: 2007 Audi TT Coupe S-Line

It's a car with pure energy

Off to Scotland for some golfing!

If the first generation Audi TT was made to be more of a fashionista's choice, then this second-generation Audi TT is the opposite because what Audi made is more athletic than ever. It's no longer a cow in the track suit, it's a cow GTI in racing overalls!

In reality, we have a choice of either a 1.8-litre EA888 TFSi, EA113-variant 2.0-litre TFSI, or the 3.2L VR6 engine. Here in Forza 4, what we have is the one with the 3.2L VR6 engine, the one we found on the old TT. It produces 268bhp of power and 350Nm of torque.

It maybe the baby of the Audi sportscars but it's highly advanced in terms of technology. With the help of the magnetic suspension, which Audi stole that idea from the Chevrolet Corvette, the handling is racing car sharp.

Jeremy Clarkson drove this one while Richard Hammond drives the Mazda RX-8 and James May drives an Alfa Romeo Brera in series 9, episode 2 of BBC Top Gear where the boys compare the Audi TT, Mazda RX-8 and Alfa Romeo Brera in Scotland.

Silverstone after the storm

The London 2012 Olympics may be at late July but here in Silverstone, this is madness. We never believed that it was raining during the practice sessions, not to mention flooded car parks. On that main event, just as we thought that Ferrari's Alonso may take the spotlight but then it was Mark Webber who achieved the win at the British GP.

Race - Webber beats Alonso to Silverstone win 08 Jul 2012

For so many laps on Sunday at Silverstone it seemed that Fernando Alonso was set to repeat his historic 2011 British victory for Ferrari, until Red Bull’s Mark Webber was able to turn the tables dramatically with just five laps remaining.

They started from the front row, Alonso on pole, and on his hard-compound Pirelli tyres the Spaniard raced away, leaving Webber, like many of their rivals shod with the soft rubber, to chase him from a distance. Alonso maintained his advantage after their first tyre stops, when they both changed to hards, so it was the final stint that became critical.

Now Alonso had to switch to his mandatory set of soft tyres on the 37th lap, four laps after Webber had changed to another set of the hards, and the fight was on. The gap was 3.9s on Lap 38, but then it came down bit by bit. By Lap 45 Webber was on his prey, but Alonso held on for two more laps before finally succumbing to the inevitable on the 48th as the Red Bull swept round the outside of him at Luffield and raced away to what was ultimately an easy victory.

Alonso clung on for second, and just stayed ahead of Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel who had fought back from a relatively poor start in which he sustained some front-wing endplate damage and lost out to Mercedes’ Michael Schumacher and Ferrari’s Felipe Massa. Great pit-stop strategy from Red Bull, bringing him in as early as the 10th lap, allowed him to jump them both to take the final place on the podium.

Massa hung on in there after Vettel had overtaken and took fourth by a whisker as Kimi Raikkonen yet again ended a race with great pace in the Lotus. The Finn was less than a second adrift at the end, and Romain Grosjean made it a good day for the Enstone team by climbing from last place after a brush with Force India’s Paul di Resta on the opening lap, to take sixth. Di Resta was the first retirement as a result, with suspected suspension damage.

Schumacher could not hold on to the third place he held initially, and slipped back to seventh, overtaking a disappointed Lewis Hamilton who had led briefly during Alonso’s first stop after a terrific opening stint which took him six laps further than Alonso had gone on the same hard-compound tyres. Later the McLaren went less well on the soft tyre, and when Hamilton’s final set of hard tyres was not as good as his first, he was unable to do better than eighth.

Team mate Jenson Button took 10th, but only after Bruno Senna ahead of him had unsettled Nico Hulkenberg who had held ninth for many laps in the surviving Force India. The German slid off trying to repass the Brazilian’s Williams on the 51st lap, handing Senna two points and Button the final one for McLaren. Like Hamilton, he too complained of general lack of grip.

Behind them, Kamui Kobayashi took 11th after a strong race, which unfortunately was marred when he hit three mechanics when he slightly overshot his pit during his second stop. Thankfully no-one was seriously injured, but the stewards understandably took a dim view and fined the Japanese driver 25,000 euro.

Hulkenberg recovered for 12th, ahead of the duelling Toro Rossos of Daniel Ricciardo and Jean-Eric Vergne, who swapped places at the end and were only two seconds apart. Nico Rosberg was 15th, after dropping out of point contention when his left-front wheel presented problems during his second pit stop.

Pastor Maldonado was another who should have scored points, but after their first pit stops on the 11th lap the Venezuelan was involved in another incident when he clipped Sauber’s Sergio Perez as they battled for track position. They both spun, but the angry Mexican was unable to continue thanks to suspension damage. The stewards subsequently reprimanded Maldonado and fined him 10,000 euro for causing a collision.

With Vitaly Petrov’s Caterham breaking its engine in the pit lane prior to the start, the green and yellow team were down to just Heikki Kovalainen, who brought his CT01 home 17th, well ahead of the Marussias of Timo Glock and Charles Pic, and the HRTs of Pedro de la Rosa and Narain Karthikeyan.

Webber’s win moves him to 116 points, with Alonso still leading on 129. Behind them, Vettel is now third on 100 from Hamilton on 92 and Raikkonen on 83. Red Bull extend their lead in the constructors’ championship, with 216 points, with both Ferrari and Lotus, on 152 and 144, moving ahead of McLaren on 142.

Verdict: For Mark Webber advanced through while Alonso's still in the lead and Vettel is 3rd. What comes next at Germany this July 22?

Welcome Back: 2004 Audi TT Coupe 3.2 quattro

This may have a flappy paddle gearbox but
it seems to be an effective one...

Driven by instinct

The Audi TT, this car has been lashing on the Cool Wall years ago. Some say this is COOL but some say, this is SERIOUSLY UNCOOL just because...they accessorize it or treat it as an accessory to your right. However, this is more of a hair-scrunchy thing for men.

I have to say that this car is just so stylish, hip, and cool. From the exterior to the interior, it's just well made to be more fashionable but you can't just get in and go because you need to be more fashionable to suit the TT's fashionable behavior. Most people have an hour or so to get home from work and go out for a night but when they have an Audi TT, this isn't enough. It takes several hours to find the right dress and proudly say "Hi! I got an Audi TT!"

The TT was launched as a coupe in 1998 and as a roadster in 1999. It uses the platform derived from the Volkswagen Golf MK4. The name was derived from the successful motor racing tradition of NSU in the British Isle of Man TT race. It can be also attributed to "Technology & Tradition". Driven by design, driven by turbo, and driven by quattro, the Audi TT has the commercial tagline of "Driven by instinct".

Early TT models come with a 1.8T engine with various power outputs and mated with either a 5-speed MT, 6-speed MT, or a 6-speed tiptronic. In 2003, a more powerful 3.2 V6 engine was introduced and it churns out 247HP of power and 320Nm of torque. It comes with a 6-speed DSG transmission that takes .4 seconds faster than manual shifting.

This first-generation TT was nominated for the North American Car of the Year award in 2000. It was also on Car and Driver magazine's Ten Best lists for 2000 and 2001

Jeremy Clarkson reviewed this one on Top Gear and when handed to The Stig, the V6-powered TT lapped the Top Gear Test Track on 1:32.7, quicker than the old Volkswagen Golf R32.

Welcome Back: 2007 Porsche 911 GT3

Remember, the winner gets to kiss Mr. Clarkson...

Today, I went for the 2007 Porsche 911 GT3, not the RS because we'll pick that up later, which comes with the plastic back window and part of Forza Motorsport 4's Porsche Expansion pack. What you get here is RWD, sports seats, yellow seatbelts that make you look interesting and a 415HP 3.6L B6 engine that can get you away from people before they discovered you're not.

The GT3 is Darwin's Evolution. Decades of German engineering have brought us with this car. Aficionados have gone weak and feeble at the mere mention of this name. There are many reasons why most of them love this car but for Clarkson, he hates the gearbox, the yellow seatbelts, and some kind of lap timer. Most of all, the only thing he hates most that the GT3 wasn't made to tolerating fools and he's a fool.

Jeremy Clarkson drove this one on Top Gear and when handed to The Stig, it lapped an amazing 1:23.1 at the Top Gear Test Track. This car was featured on Jeremy Clarkson's 2007 DVD, Supercar Showdown, and he crashed it, slightly. Despite the minor crash, this car was handed over to The Stig and defeated the Audi R8, driven by Nurburgring genius Sabine Schmitz.

Jeremy Clarkson War Stories

Jeremy Clarkson War Stories

Jeremy Clarkson War Stories pits through Top Gear veteran, Jeremy Clarkson, into storytelling about two remarkable stories from the grueling World War II. Both of these two documentaries are educative, informative, and surely one of the best that you'll never ever find these on history books, well almost because most of them are from your history books.

The first one is The Victoria Cross: For Valour. In September 17, 1944, the Allies are advancing through German enemies by dropping from the sky by parachute or glider up to 150 km behind enemy lines. Their mission is to protect the bridge across the rivers in Holland so that the Allied army could advance rapidly northwards and turn right into the lowlands of Germany.

Sadly, the operation named Operation Market Garden wasn't quite getting better. The bridge at Arnhem proved to be 'a bridge too far'. After 10 days of bitter fighting the operation ended with the evacuation of the remainder of the 1st British Airborne Division from the Arnhem area.

On that documentary, Jeremy Clarkson tells the story about the highest military decoration awarded for valour; the Victoria Cross. It even told about who are the honorable soldiers who achieved their Victoria Cross and what is the future of the Victoria Cross.

The next documentary is called The Greatest Raid of All. The St Nazaire Raid or Operation Chariot is one the most successful British amphibious attack on the heavily defended Normandie dry dock at St Nazaire in German-occupied France during the Second World War. This operation is known to be THE GREATEST RAID OF ALL. Jeremy Clarkson took us for a wild ride about Operation Chariot, the introduction of the commandos, and how did this operation became successful.

Both these war stories are remarkable, and quite a thrill for those who want to learn more about Britain in the brink of the Second World War. The honor among British troops is what made these stories very remarkable in the eyes of many historians. As for me, I love to watch these two stories over and over again thanks to Jeremy Clarkson's storytelling.

Let's Do The News! (July 8, 2012)

And now we will do the news and oh, have you seen the PBB Teens 4 Big Night?

(audience said yes)

Yes, I did.

Me too....

It's Myrtle Sarrosa! PBB Teen Edition 4 Big Winner! Congratulations!

(audience applause)

Wai...wait...wait....Really? Is it Myrtle Sarrosa who won PBB Teens 4?

Indeed she is...

But....but I was rooting for Roy Requero, which he ended up 3rd place, while Karen Reyes came 2nd and the Agpangan twins landed 4th. Which is weird for the first time in PBB history that there are twins landed to the big 4 and they were Jai and Joj Agpangan. AMAZING! He he....

Yeah, amazing to see twins coming this far but still Ms. Myrtle Sarrosa has confidence, charisma, strength, and the willpower that became THAT kind of person who achieved a dream after spending 13 weeks staying at BAHAY NI KUYA for series of challenges.

But still, congratulations Myrtle, Karen, Roy, and the Agpangan twins!

(audience applause)

Oh hey now, bad news!

What?

REALLY REALLY BAD NEWS!

What?

Persona 4 Arena...

What is it about?

Persona 4 Arena - the world's first region-locked Playstation3 game for six years!

(awwwww)

Oh....But why? Why PERSONA 4 ARENA became the world's first region-locked PS3 game?

I have no idea why did that happened for the most anticipated game that plays like Blazblue but with Persona 4 characters on it. ATLUS, if you're reading this, you're pathetic.

(audience laughing)

You couldn't blame ATLUS for saying that Persona 4 Arena became the world's first region-locked PS3 game, eh? Well, what was the last time you realized that the game you had were region-locked?

Several times but here's one of my childhood stories. In the past when I have a SEGA DREAMCAST back then, I have games that suited well right until I bought some cheap Dreamcast games at some shady stores in malls, I didn't realize that they were region locked. Later on, we bought some kind of a special gizmo that makes every Dreamcast game region free. It was like a disc, only better. I tried that on one of mine such as Sonic, Silent Scope, Evolution 2, Crazy Taxi, any others....

Aside from Dreamcast, any others?

Ah yes! Back in 2002, someone bought me a Playstation2. That made me happy but when it comes to play something, momma said that this PS2 needs to be modified in order to be REGION-FREE.

(ooohhh)

So, where did you modified your PS2 to be REGION-FREE?

Some shady shop at SM Southmall, the cinema floor. That region-free modification is kinda costly but still it was worth trying to buy some PS2 games no matter what region they were.

(oooohh)

I was kinda carried away right until portable games like the old Nintendo DS or the PSP that have the willpower to play games no matter what region they are.

So, the old DS and the outgoing, but still popular in Japan, PSP has the REGION-FREE willpower? Wowies!

Hey um...you know that last year's 3DS was region locked, right?

Doesn't bother because I never have one but anyway, the issue of Persona 4 Arena became the world's first region-locked PS3 game, is this going to affect the habit of import foreign hardware for a multitude of reasons and expect to be unlimited in their software selection? What do you think?

(audience murmuring)

How bad could that be? Oh, and I found something from ATLUS's press release. Says here...

"The unforeseen consequence in all of this was that we had a version of our biggest game of the year releasing within a couple weeks in two territories, both identical in content, but at radically different price points. Importing, as great as it is for gamers who otherwise can't get access to a title, can also cannibalize the performance of a title in one territory to the benefit of another. While we're all one big ATLUS family, the reality is that the dramatic difference between the Yen and the Dollar makes for a dramatic difference in price. So the decision was made, perhaps at the expense of some of our fans, clearly at the frustration of many, to region-lock Persona 4 Arena."

...Importing cannibalize the performance of a title in one territory to the benefit of another. Yep, that's true but doesn't matter to us. We don't care if we're importing something that goes something something but at least we tried to have a piece of it. What's going to be next? NAMCO BANDAI? Konami? SEGA? CAPCOM? I HAVE NO IDEA IF THEY WERE GOING TO BE THE NEXT VICTIM OF REGION-LOCKED PS3 GAME!!!!

(audience laughing)

This is some kind of EMBARGO! This is ILLEGAL! In fact, I'm not buying that game. I'm definitely not buying that game. That whole Persona 4 Arena PS3 game embargo is just bull.

Anyway, kindly forget about this whole P4 Arena embargo issue regarding that this is the world's first region-locked PS3 game for half a decade. And moving on....Anyway, remember the BBC Anglophenia article about how to cosplay as former Doctor Who ally, Rose Tyler? Guess what? We found something on the official BBC America's Anglophenia blog regarding Doctor Who cosplays...

What is it? How to dress as Amy Pond?

(audience laughing)

Love to hear that but no. Not yet. Here's how to dress as Martha Jones, the companion from Season 3;

1: Hair – Black and up. Very businesslike. Smart and out of the way, apart from the odd rogue strand deliberately hung across the face.

2: Jacket – zip-up burgundy leather windcheater, waist length. It’s a different color to the Rose Tyler jacket, but if you’re stuck, you could probably swap the one for the other. Martha and Rose are so physically different no one could really confuse the two.

3: Top – one of those vest-tops with lacy trimmings at the top, of a similar color to the jacket but a bit lighter, and a bit longer.

4: Jeans – boot cut, blue-black, stonewashed and long.

5: Shoes – as you can see, Martha likes her power heels. Something black and booty would be ideal.

6:Accessories – small golden hoop earrings and a subtle gold necklace. Couple of rings on her left hand.

If cosplaying as Martha Jones is not your type, how about Donna Noble, the runaway bride and then companion from Season 4? Note that this is going to be advanced and it takes a middle aged woman to pull this job...

1: Hair – red. If you can’t manage Donna hair, you’re sort of doomed. A red wig if you can get it, with brow-length bangs, but swept away from the forehead.

2: Jacket – dark tan leather raincoat.

3: Top – there’s a purple vest top underneath, and a long grey sweater with a low scooped neckline on top.

4:Trousers – anything dark will do. Dark jeans, charcoal grey suit pants, that kind of thing.

5: Shoes – brown and sensible. Donna’s a little older than Martha and a little more middle-class than Rose. She saves her uncomfortable shoes for the weekend.

6: Accessories – thick tan belt, as close to the color of the coat as possible, worn over the sweater. Hoop earrings, no necklace. Donna also wears a ring like a pebble on the middle finger of her right hand. You can get away without it if you can’t find one.

It's hard to pull a Donna Noble attempt and yeah, you're right. It takes some middle-aged woman to pull this kind of job as becoming Donna. Speaking of which, as I read through the BBC Anglophenia, another Doctor Who character you wanna be is...RIVER SONG? Oh no...We're not into that...I would rather wait for HOW TO DRESS LIKE AMY POND.

(audience laughing)

Okay okay Hamster. If you're waiting for BBC America's ANGLOPHENIA blog to put this whole HOW TO DRESS LIKE AMY POND to reality, you'll have to wait even longer. Hey now, my story. When we were shopping for some groceries, there was something unexpected when I left. My sis, unexpectedly got my PSVita and suddenly played the Metal Gear Solid HD Edition. She played MGS2 here and bam!

(audience laughing)

What is it?

You know, my little sis knows about Raiden who was more of a ninja like what you saw on MGS4. We can also expect Raiden as the hero of next year's Metal Gear Rising Revengeance. Anyway, my little sis got confused about this Raiden character for being the coolest Metal Gear character of all times. You know what forget about it. Forget about that. Forget what I said that.

(audience laughing)

Okay, we heard you loud and clear....

Anyway, my real story. My papa bought me a new shirt....

(audience laughing)

NOOB? You're a NOOB?

That's what the shirt says...NOOB! I'M A NOOB!

(audience laughing continues)

Anyway, good shirt by the looks of it.

Slow, please, this shirt is rubbish and whoever bought me this is....

(audience laughing)

You know what? Forget it. Anyway, moving on. Taxis in the Philippines. It's a bit more rubbish by the way when it comes to this whole CASH ONLY policy. I heard something that in Davao that a much sosy taxi was made and this accepts either cash or CREDIT CARDS! A taxi that accepts credit cards even if you don't have cash on your wallet!

(ooohh)

How CONYO was that? Taxis in Davaos accept ATM or Credit cards! I'd wish I would rather live here but hey, I'd never thought that taxis in the Philippines are getting more advanced and sosy than ever! There was this CALL A TAXI that you can summon a taxi and now this! I hope this will be implemented nationwide because not only they are easy, they're secured because it lessens chances of holdups and car thefts. Guess they've learned something from other countries because of advanced taxis.

Sounds convincing! TAXIS ARE NOW GETTING CONYO AND SOSY! Even the drivers are now turned Conyo drivers! Imagine that!

(audience laughing)

You know Jerry Seinfeld? The comedian who was featured on the Acura NSX commercial since Super Bowl 2012? Guess what, he's planning for a new show regarding comedians in cars...

Sounds like transaction!

Yeah! This is transaction and hopefully this won't be bothered by a flying Jay Leno. Otherwise, he'll ruin Seinfeld's progress just as what happened on the first NSX. He he he...

(audience laughing)

THAT'S THE NEWS!!!

Mercedes-Benz SL63/65 AMG (R231)

2013 Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG

2013 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG

The SL-Class R231 served as the sixth generation of the legendary GT car made by Mercedes-Benz and here, that wouldn't be done without the mega erotic AMG models.

Starting with the SL63 AMG, this version comes with the M157 5.5L V8 BiTurbo engine that churns out 395 kW (537 PS) of power and 800 Nm of torque. Mated with the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed transmission, it will do 0-100kph in 4.3 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h. Couple that with the optional AMG Performance Package and the top speed will become 300kph thanks to the boost of power and torque.

The AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed transmission comes with several driving modes such as "S" (Sport), "S+" (Sport Plus), "M" (Manual), and "C" (Controlled Efficiency). When set to "S" (Sport) mode, the engine and transmission take on a much more agile character. "Sport plus" or "Manual" shifts the gears another 25 percent faster than in "S". The new Controlled Efficiency ("C") mode makes convenient gearshifts and a "soft" accelerator response set-up for outstandingly smooth power transfer.

There's also the ECO start/stop function that shuts the engine off when stopped and then starts again when the foot is on the gas pedal, to save petrol.

In the past, old Mercedes-AMG models bearing the 65 nameplate are using the old M275 6.0L V12 BiTurbo which packs more power but only comes in 5-speed AT because 7G-Tronic wasn't able to handle the torque from the V12 engines. For the first time ever in Mercedes-AMG history, the new SL65 AMG is the first ever Mercedes-AMG model to have the all-new M279 6.0L V12 BiTurbo engine mated with the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed transmission.

This new V12 BiTurbo engine for the SL65 AMG generates 463 kW (630 PS) of power and 1000 Nm of torque. 0 to 100 km/h takes 4 seconds with the 200 km/h mark attained after just 11.8 seconds. The top speed is 250 km/h (electronically limited).

Exclusive features on the SL65 AMG are AIRSCARF, Active Parking Assist incl. PARKTRONIC, ATTENTION ASSIST, Bang & Olufsen BeoSound AMG high-end surround sound system, COMAND Online with 6-disc DVD changer, Anti-theft alarm system, Frontbass, Remote-unlocking boot lid incl. power closing for boot lid, Intelligent Light System ILS, KEYLESS-GO Convenience package, Convenience telephony, MAGIC VISION CONTROL, NECK-PRO head restraints, Panoramic vario-roof, PRE-SAFE system, Door power closing, and Automatic pop-up roll-over bars for driver and front passenger.

The SL63and SL65's available colors are; Diamantweiss, Iridiumsilber, Dolomitbraun, Cavansitblau, Schwarz, Perlbeige, Palladiumsilber, Obsidianschwarz, Feueropal, Magnetitschwarz, and Tenoritgrau.

My comment:
The new SL63 gets the now ubiquitous M157 V8 BiTurbo engine, the kind of engine that Forza Motorsport creators are afraid to feature in any single Mercedes-AMG model with that kind of engine in the future, and the new SL65 AMG is the first ever AMG model with the V12 BiTurbo engine mated with the AMG MCT SPEEDSHIFT 7-speed transmission.

At last, Mercedes-AMG finally managed to tame this GT car with big power and it will surely give the new BMW M6 a run for its money.
