- Despite appeals from international human rights group, Shafqat Hussain, convicted of killing a child 11 years ago, was executed by the Pakistani government. His lawyers say he was 14 when convicted guilty and his confession was extracted by torture, but officials denied proof that he was underaged when convicted.

- US President Barack Obama unveiled the revised Clean Power Plan that aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from US power stations by nearly a third within 15 years and place emphasis on renewable resources.

- The meeting with ASEAN foreign ministers has commenced in the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur, and this meeting tackles more on measures against the People's Republic of China's reclamation of reefs in the Spratly Islands in the South China Sea.

- A heavy cyclone struck the West Bengal and Manipur of India late last month, triggering floods and landslides, killing over 200 people, and affected millions.

- A more powerful typhoon Soudelor (Local Name: Hanna) is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Wednesday, with max sustained winds of 210kph near the center and gustiness of up to 245kph. It is forecasted to move west northwest at 20kph. It is known to be the most powerful for 2015, experts warned, but PAGASA officials said that it will not directly affect the country and it is not expected to make landfall in any part of the country. However, this storm will enhance the habagat and expected to affect Visayas and Mindanao.

- The 16 players representing Gilas Pilipinas for next month's FIBA Asia Championship has been revealed.

- The all-new Suzuki Solio has been teased alongside its stylish Solio Bandit variant and they're ready to be unveiled late August 2015. For these new models, they are equipped with Suzuki's first ever Mild Hybrid system with Idle Stop and Go for improved fuel economy.



- A certain report revealed what's going on during the reconstruction of Konami Corporation. Aside from the removal of Kojima Productions, creators of the Metal Gear series, there's some shocking stuff about employees complaining about poor treatment and strict regulation.

- Hitchbot, the hitchhiking robot originally planned to arrive from Philadelphia to San Francisco, has been vandalized and destroyed in Philadelphia just a couple weeks after the start of the trip.
