- According to a state-run newspaper, it is reported that Aung san Suu Kyi's opposition party, the National League of Democracy or NLD is leading despite a delay in the results of Burma's general election.

- An independent anti-doping panel has recommend that Russia may face ban for systematic doping practices, a ban could force Russian athletes to miss next year's Olympics.

- The head of the German football association has resigned despite the scandal over the country's successful bid to host the 2006 FIFA World Cup but denied allegations he was involved.

- US President Barack Obama met with Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House as he emphasized his commitment to bolster Israel's security in an apparent bid to restore the ties between the two nations. The two countries faced strong disagreement between them following the Iran nuclear deal that would limit the Middle Eastern nation's nuclear enrichment.

- Senator Grace Poe suggest that the Philippines should have a better Department of Transportation and Communications chief after lashing out against Secretary Joseph Emilio Abaya over delays int he improvement of the MRT 3, including the delivery of new coaches, and the rehabilitation of elevators and toilets.

- Mercedes-Benz starts internship program to train refugees for the workforce as Germany's facing an influx of asylum seekers. They will offer them training and German language lessons over the course of fourteen weeks.
