- Philippine President Benigno Aquino III and his Cabinet members arrived in California for the US-ASEAN Summit hosted by his American counterpart Barack Obama. Aquino is scheduled to attend the first retreat session of the Summit as this session bears the theme "Promoting an Innovative, Entrepreneurial ASEAN Economic Community" while the second retreat session on the next day involves "Protecting Peace, Prosperity, and Security in the Asia-Pacific."

- The printing of ballots for the May 2016 elections has commenced yesterday after minor setbacks and all six presidential candidates, including those that passed away, are listed on the official ballot. With disqualification cases still unresolved by the Supreme Court, the COMELEC released the list of candidates for the elections as the National Printing Office commenced printing on 55.6 million official ballots.

- The LGBT group Ladlad condemned Sarangani Representative and senatorial aspirant Manny Pacquiao and urged not to vote for him following his comments about same-sex marriage.

- The European Union decided to ease sanctions on Belarus and its authoritarian president following the nation's improvements in the human rights situation. Despite the lifting of the travel ban, asset freeze and other measures imposed on Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko as well as 169 other officials and three companies, an arms embargo is still in place.

- Turkey accused Russia of carrying out an air strike that killed many civilians in the northern Syrian town of Azaz. Turkish PM Ahmet Davutoglu said a Russian missile fired from the Caspian Sea hit a hospital and a school in the town.

- A hybrid version of the Lexus LC is ready to be unveiled at next month's Geneva Motor Show, packed with a brand new hybrid system.

- Marian Rivera confirmed that she will be part in the upcoming 2016 reboot of the hit GMA fantasy drama Encantadia but who will be joining her in the modernized fantaserye?
