3rd Gen BMW 1-Series and 3rd Gen BMW X6

BMW sure knows how to mix the things that were right like the 3-Series and the 5-Series with the things that were wrong like the Active Tourer and any other Sport Activity Coupes in the range but due to BMW's newly-found progressiveness, the things that were wrong are starting to tilt in favor and such examples is the all-new, front-wheel drive, 1-Series, and the all-new X6, the one that gave birth to the coupe utility niche. Let's observe the whys of both of these wrongfully-minded Bimmers no one saw them coming.

2020 BMW 1-Series

In the beginning, most 1-Series hatchbacks are rear-wheel drive and they are a cahoot to drive in the beginning but there was one problem with the 1-Series; the space. To resolve the space issue, BMW committed the unthinkable by turning the 1-Series hatchback from a tail-happy rear-wheel drive hatchback into a more politically-correct front-wheel drive. That move disappoints many BMW fans since they've launched their first front-wheel drive car, the 2-Series Active Tourer MPV but it's a bit more complicated than that.

2020 BMW 1-Series
2020 BMW 1-Series interior
Checking on the design department, the all-new 1-Series hatchback is not a bad car to look at, except for the front face which, in BMW levels, looks odd. And then there's the interior design, which comes with a wide variety of modes to toy around such as the infotainment system, the climate control, the smartphone connectivity, and so on. Because it runs on a new FAAR platform, which is the future of front-wheel drive cars the BMW will make, especially the next Mini, it's now surprisingly the most spacious 1-Series ever made and on the boot, you can now fit so many things that the previous models can't.

2020 BMW 1-Series

Continuing on the FAAR platform, the front-wheel drive layout of the 28,200 Euro BMW 1-Series really means mild on the corners, making it one of the easiest cars to drive with, although some are unhappy with the change because they want to be as fun-to-drive as its predecessors. Even the range-topping M135i xDrive couldn't make the cut rather well because its front-biased rather than rear-biased like you get in the now defunct Ford Focus RS, meaning it behaves like an Audi S3 hatchback but again, more complicating than that. Couple that with numerous tech built for driving and safety alike and the result is a more questionable hatchback that leaves drivers scratching their heads for more.

The new, front-wheel drive BMW 1-Series is one of the worst offenders from BMW because of the un-BMW-ish dynamics that will upset longtime fans but hey, this is how BMW succumbed to progressiveness and progressives like to try new things that will benefit not just themselves but also the world. Still, the front-wheel drive 1-Series wasn't the least of our problems because there's another one that is a bit more slop-sided.

2020 BMW X6
2020 BMW X6

In the beginning, BMW was the first to introduce the coupe utility niche with the X6 and as far as owners believed, the X6 is too cramped, too complicated, and too expensive, meaning they have to travel different parts of the world for some explanations. With the new, third-generation, BMW X6, the first coupe utility has stepped into the next level of whatever it throws at them.

First and foremost, the styling is slightly an improvement compared to the previous X6, the one you don't want to see in your rear view mirror because of the House call coming to hound you down at the dead of night, until you get to the most noticeable feature of all. Yep, the new X6 features an illuminated BMW kidney grille and that's rather flashy and scary at the same time. It's like it's been made by a speedo boy in his garage putting up lots of lights on his car to make it more shiny than the rest.

2020 BMW X6 interior

And then there's the interior which pulls all right nooks and crannies like every car in the world should and despite its sloping roofline, it's slightly less cramped compared to the last one and slightly more spacious as well. However, if you are snoozing at your sweet spot, you are not safe when your Dad started toying around with the voice command system a la Alexa and when he does, expect some rambling involved over just how Alexa-ish the car's voice command system is.

2020 BMW X6
BMW has done some improvements that will keep this 75,500 Euro X6 satisfying to drive than its predecessors and they've provided numerous options to choose from such as the xOffroad package which includes a two-axle air suspension and an electronically controlled rear differential making it capable to drive almost anywhere. Although not as good as a Range Rover, the xOffroad package really spells good news for the drivers. On the normal side, it feels slightly improved compared to the previous model, meaning it's now behaving slightly well in the bends and it's slightly less milder compared to the previous model. This giant mace is becoming more livelier than before.

The range-topping M50i uses the same 4.4L V8 engine as the other M Performance cars, the same 8-speed automatic and the same xDrive all-wheel drive, meaning it is capable of going from 0-100kph in 4.3 seconds and top speed electronically limited to 250kph. That sounds very sensuous for the drivers but if they want some meat to their X6, there's the M50d with its 3.0L six-cylinder quad-turbo engine with 760Nm of torque. However, the latter may not work in today's Europe because, let's be honest, no one in Europe today is a fan of diesels these days.

If you were going to pick the lesser of the two evils from BMW, it's hard to decide which will go because none of these two will tickle the fancies of every Bimmer fan today. Yes, the new 1-Series is a treason to the BMW heritage because of its FF layout and the new X6 scares the sheep out of heck because of its terrifying illuminating kidney grille, but either way, there's nothing bad about giving them some love because they deserve more attention than being themselves, as is.

Forza Horizon: Badlands Rumble

The arrival of the March Meguiar's Car Pack on Forza Horizon sees the arrival of three new-to-Forza German cars for us to joyride. Yes, those three new cars are German; one is a high-performance wagon, one is a rear-wheel drive hatchback, and one if a high-performance offroader. Need to say more?

This is a wagon you'd promised for...

First is this, the all new Audi RS4 Avant. Like its previous model, it has the same 4.2L V8 that produces the same power that you would expect from an M3 Coupe but without drawing quite so much attention to it. Like its previous model, that exhaust note kinda feels like a tribute to Pavarotti. It's as sonorous as the Chinese name of the Chevrolet Camaro (Ke Mai Luo) and this is the kind of car that doesn't want to kill you. Yes, really, the ride's good, the quattro permanent all-wheel drive's keeps you out in the crash zone and it's not as complicating to drive as the other cars. It maybe idiotic in the exterior design but the driving feel is not quite idiotic until you're starting to behave like a cannibal...

The one and only rear-wheel drive hatchback

For the first time in racing video game history, the second-generation BMW 1-Series has arrived and what you see here is the M135i, the newest member of the BMW M Performance Automobiles that were a bunch of normal BMW's with M genes included to deliver M-style precision in a normal Bimmer. Bimmer fans concerned about the discontinuation of the BMW 1M Coupe in Easter 2012 were soon reassured by the arrival of a much hotter version of the BMW 1-Series hatchback. While the M135i prove to be more than a worthwhile replacement for the 1M but the performance figures are a bit lacking. Despite all this, let's just remember that this is the only rear-wheel drive production hatchback we can all enjoy in Horizon. It's like The Doctor, who was the last of the time lords. The blend of wit, excitement and drama on the M135i were all here.

Oh, and beware of the military troops hunting you

Fans of Top Gear USA might remember that Tanner Foust once drove the G63 AMG while being hunted by the US Army and in the end, Tanner was busted by the army. Now, this is the much more bigger brother of the 63, the V12 powered G65 AMG. While it looked identical to the G-Wagen that Tanner drove while being chased by the army, the G65 is boosted with the 6.0L V12 twin-turbo engine mated with an AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7G‑TRONIC automatic transmission system. An AMG V12 engine with a 7-speed gearbox? Whoa, but this isn't the first time the G65 comes with that, it's the latest AMG SL65 that gave credit for it. But still, with all that brute power, luxurious interior, and the off-road capability that can make use in the game of KING or INFECTED at the Carson Golf Course near the Media Center, the G65 is truly a force to be reckoned with...

Oh yes, this would be a Badlands Rumble when those three came together to show off THE MOVES...

Forza Horizon: A few good BMW's

Bimmers love the open road of Colorado, especially in a game of Forza Horizon but sometimes not all Bimmers are good, well they are better or BEST! There are a good bimmers, some better ones, and the BEST BMW cars offered on Horizon. For me, the best Bimmers I have ever drive were...

...the normal BMW M3 E92...

This is like a promotional video!

...the BMW Z4 E89, which is the dinosaur ravaging through Horizon...

Beware of the dinosaur with big meaty testes!

...the BMW 1M Coupe, which maybe old but still a goodie for the enthusiasts...

The other Annoying Orange...

...and the BMW M5 F10, which is definitely the best BMW 4-door high performance sports saloon which loves to pull some moves for the sake of its popularity...

This driver's had a cousin in Yorkshire!

Those beamers were the best! It really showed me how "Freude am Fahren" they are, sticking true to its BMW slogan and you know it.

BMW 1-Series 3-door (F21) and Mercedes-Benz A-Class (W176)

Let's start with the BMW 1-Series. Well, for the all new F20 model, the 1-Series is getting a bit more eccentric, a bit too odd, and most of all, it's a bit too creepy. As scary as...Psycho Mantis. (laughing)  But let's remind that even though the F20's a bit ugly, this is the last of its kind. The last of the rear-wheel drive hatchbacks. This is the only RWD hatchback you can buy. Nothing else....

2013 BMW 1-Series 3-door
2013 BMW 1-Series 3-door

However, BMW finally came up with a new 3-door version and this is a little bit too different. You get the same features, the same Urban Line, the same Sport Line, and the same engine choices from the standard 5-door model and like the 5-door model that we tried last autumn, they now come with the 114i (the one with the 1.6L twin turbo engine), 125i (the one with the 2.0L twin turbo engine), 116d EfficientDynamics Edition (the one with the 1.6L diesel engine but with even more eco-car peripherals), 125d (the one with the 2.0L diesel engine), and this...

2013 BMW M135i

..they even made a hotter version of the 1-Series F20/F21. It's part of the all new BMW M Performance Automobiles, a side story of the BMW M Division that they maybe not M worthy but they have capabilities of a BMW M car. But first, what is this BMW M Performance Automobiles? That is a tricky one because BMW M Performance Automobiles are extra-sporty vehicles with a superior combination of dynamic ability and fuel efficiency. They benefit from the unique expertise of BMW M engineers, with a special, fine-tuned powertrain, suspension and steering system. Most examples were the BMW M550d XDrive, BMW X5 M50d, BMW X6 M50d, and the one we're going to feature here...the M135i.

So, what makes the M135i the last of the rear-wheel drive hatchbacks made even better? This is just like a Scottish woman in her 20's who gave up law enforcement and trades her law enforcement for a modelling contract. You wanna know who? I'm sorry but NEVER APPLY LOGIC TO WHO. So, for this former policewoman turned supermodel, she tries to bare it all and oh....she got caught by some evil robots and taking her from space along with her husband. Uh...what did I just said? Something irrelevant on this topic?

Sorry everyone. Anyway, back on the M135i, this is the first ever petrol-powered member of the new BMW M Performance Automobiles; those that look like normal BMWs with M genes included. It's just like the former policewoman turned supermodel I've told, it looks fiercer, it looks tender, and best off all, this car would be brave enough to say "Scared? Who's scared? Geronimo."

However, there's more to this GERONIMO stuff. Now, as I told after the Easter vacation, the BMW 1-Series M Coupe ended production since the day of the Easter bunny. That was disappointed to discontinue the baby M much like General Motors killing the Pontiac G8 in 2009, which is a great car killed prematurely.  I was concerned about the death of the BMW 1M Coupe but for this BMW M135i, would it be a proper substitute?

First off, the M135i is powered by a 3.0L N55B30 twin turbo engine which generates about 320PS of power, which is 20PS less than the defunct 1M Coupe but the 450Nm of torque is the same as the defunct 1M Coupe. For 0-100kph time, the M135i can do it in 5.1 seconds in a 6MT, but with the 8-speed automatic, that should do it in 4.9 seconds, and with the 8AT and xDrive combined, that should do it in 4.7 seconds. To sum this up, the M135i with the 8AT and xDrive combined is faster than the defunct 1M Coupe's 4.9 second time even though they're both electronically limited to 250km/h. That sounds a bit fair but be warned, the M135i XDrive is notoriously trickier to get off the line. If you get it right, you get a win but if you mess it up, you lose so the differences is all up to the driver.

2013 BMW 1-Series 3-door interior

When it comes to cornering, both the 1-Series 3-door and its M135i spin-off are good and when it comes to driving it, all I can think off is Haruka Amami's bangs. Don't you just love it when you sniff around her hair? Anyway, this car will make you feel high like a bunch of rugby boys in the streets. If you don't know what a rugby boy is, he's not a fan of the sport of rugby but an idiot who's busy sniffing a solvent branded as rugby. Driving this FR hatchback feels like you're sniffing rugby to get yourself high and you can't stop this addiction. I would gladly want to cut down Haruka Amami's bangs that's for sure.

The performance really is a good stuff for this Bimmer but in terms of design, I just really don't like the way it looks because it kinda looks like Psycho Mantis. Even covering it with the M Sport Pack, it doesn't really cut the mustard. It still looks like the bad guy that made you miserable unless you are opted to use Controller number 2 to end the misery. What I need is a car that is all about style and all Nina Williams-ish...and I think I got one...

2013 Mercedes-Benz A-Class

This one's all about style. It's the new Mercedes-Benz A-Class and for this regenerated model, it has been graduated from a supermini to a small family car. The entry-level model of Mercedes-Benz is now even larger than before. It might be even more elegant than the 1 Series and the new Audi A3 but I'm not sure if this is worth it...or do I?

2013 Mercedes-Benz A-Class interior
Firstly, the exterior is more similar than today's CLS and it reflects Mercedes-Benz's new design philosophy while the interior has some vents that look like it came from the SLS AMG but what surprises me was its convenience. There was this Digital DriveStyle & Drive Kit Plus for the iPhone which does come with the personalised internet radio by AUPEO! Personal Radio, Garmin navigation software, and the best part was its Facebook and twitter integration that lets me share my status while driving. Cool, isn't it? This is becoming a yuppie sensation in the making and there was the COMAND Online with Colud technology and App Shop! An app shop for a Benz? Cool, this is like an iPhone on wheels but for its primer, the first two apps available are the Parking Finder and Morningstar Finance. More apps will be added later.

Like the Bmw 1-Series, which serves the Urban and Sport Line, the new A-Class does have three lines that suits the flavor; one is the Urban line which is like the Urban Line from the BMW 1-Series, it's all about being civilized on the city streets. Second was the Style line which adds a bit of elegance for the drivers. Lastly was this one; the AMG Sport. Much like the BMW M Sport pack on the 1-Series, the A-Class' AMG Sport line features some of the AMG styling bits that makes it more sporty and with the addition of sports suspension, direct-steer, and a large brakes. Sounds intriguing, but what about choices?

The new A-Class comes with a 1.6 L M270 I4 Turbocharged, 2.0 L M270 I4 Turbocharged, 1.5 L OM607 Diesel I4, 1.8 L OM651 Diesel I4, and 2.2 L OM651 Diesel I4 engine at its launch. As of now, the most powerful of the new A-Class range was the A250 Sport model which has a power output of 211PS of power. Standard transmission on models such as the A180, A200, A180 CDi, and the A200 CDi was the 6-speed manual transmission, but for other models such as the A250, A250 Sport, A180 CDI (OM 651), and the A220 CDI, they do come with a 7-speed double clutch transmission, which Benz says that it has a faster shifting time than manuals. Want a refresh? Simple, when clutch no. 1 is at 2nd gear, clutch no. 2 prepares the 3rd gear and then...shift it to 3rd gear, nice and easy, meanwhile, clutch no. 2 is preparing 4th gear for me and when its ready, shift it to 4th gear. This double clutch witchcraft, it has the odd numbers on the first while the other clutch has the even numbers. Again, when I was at 3rd gear, the 2nd clutch is pre-selecting 4th gear for me and when I shift it to 4th, the 2nd clutch is preparing 5th for me. What a seamlessly witchcraft!

2013 Mercedes-Benz A-Class

It is becoming an interesting feature but what about cornering? Let's remember that this one's front wheel drive so too much grip and understeering are occurred. With the AMG Sport pack, this feels a bit hotter like a hot hatch. You can see the reflexes of a silver wolf transformed into a beautiful white-haired young woman..with the eyepatch..waiting to grapple you down the bed. It's still a mild car but I'm starting to like this car in a different way I like the RWD 1-Series.

Choosing either of these cars is not easy, sure the 1-Series is a bit of a Psycho Mantis controlling the steering wheel while you seat and waiting for him to kill you with his mind while the A-Class has the elegance of Takane Shijou with the power of the Bad Wolf. Both of these urban lifestyle compacts are a fun way to take them out on the streets as long as you have your parents' permission.

BMW 1er M Coupe auf Forza 4

Back for some Nurburgring sessions!

That BMW 1 Series M Coupe was just one of the most agile sports coupe ever made by BMW. It's just one of the cars I've been dreamt of because I kept on reading numerous reports from various automotive websites about the arrival of the "junior" member of the BMW M Power. This was just my dream ruined because when people pre-ordered Forza 4 at Best Buy, they get this. Sadly, I didn't get one because I've pre-ordered mine at Gamestop. Guess this would be just an illusion until now. With the Launch Bonus DLC Pack made available worldwide, I finally got the chance to take the first bite out of the BMW 1M Coupe, the junior member of the BMW M Power consisting of the M5, M3, X5 M, and the X6 M. Although this is the lightest of BMW M Power range, I find the cornering very difficult to master even though this turbocharged pocket rocket comes with an RWD layout and a 6-speed manual gearbox. When I tried to recreate the BMW 1M Coupe Top Gear Power Lap Time, the 1M Coupe is somewhat very struggling but I find no signs of problems at the Follow-Through section. However, the 1:25 Top Gear Power Lap Time that Stig set it on the show, I didn't make it.

But still, this is a great sports coupe. Despite the handling issues, and the difficulty faced even when I used the Wireless Speed Wheel, I'm glad I experienced the car I've dreamt of. What it feels to me now was a complete nightmare....

BMW 1M Coupe production extended until mid-2012

2012 BMW 1-Series M Coupe

As we all know that the BMW 1M Coupe is truly a hardcore version of the 1-Series Coupe. We were kinda worried that production of the 1M Coupe will end at the end of 2011 but there is some good news that production of the BMW 1M Coupe has been extended until the second half of 2012, according to one report from Top Gear Philippines because of the increasing demand. Talk about an encore performance!

Der Neu BMW 1er

2012 BMW 1-Series

This is "ONE WAY TO JOY"

Asian Carmakers, official BMW distributor in the Philippines, launched the all new BMW 1-Series F20 and for the first time, this new model is available in two different lines that suit your personalities: The Urban Line and the Sport Line.

Either way, they're equipped with a four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 143hp of power, 320Nm of torque, and 0-100kph in 8.9 seconds. Prices start at 2,290,000 Philippine Pesos.

My verdict:
Things I like about the new 1 Series F20 is its new interior, diesel engine, and a perfect hatchback suited for everyday lifestyle. This is the last rear wheel drive hatchback they'll ever build. Things I don't like is the exterior design, which looks psychotic.

Are you the one?

BMW 1 Series Full Model Change (F20)

For the first time ever, the BMW 1 Series hatchback gained its first full model change after its first generation stayed for about seven years when it was introduced in the world since 2004. We weren't sure how can we describe about the BMW 1 Series' full model change but see if we care...

2012 BMW 1-Series (F20)

The first-generation 1-Series is a little bit bulgy but the new, second-generation F20 1-Series is now a little bit bulgier than the first generation model! The front view of this new model can be somewhat odd or creepy. It appears it was designed by some madman who got hit by an axe because the front view of the new F20 1-Series is the most terrifying view I have ever seen in my whole life. One look and your babies will start crying uncontrollably because of such scary stance! For the first time ever, there are three styles to choose from such as the Standard, Urban Line for some executive feeling and the Sport Line for sportiness.

2012 BMW 1-Series (F20) interior

The new BMW F20 1-Series look scary on the outside but on the inside, you'll be safe here. The new interior on the BMW F20 1-Series is all about being hospitable and its tempting to check out some technological features such as the new BMW ConnectedDrive feature. From the inside, I could get addicted with the connectivity features loaded especially the BMW apps that allows me to go on a Facebook status updates, twitter updates, and Webradio. The BMW Online feature allows me to keep in touch with the latest reports and weather updates while cruising the Autobahn. The new 1 Series hatchback is made to be more savvy and addicting much like you're playing Angry Birds in your iPhone. Don't lie, we know that was the case.

As the last FR hatchback remaining, the new BMW 1-Series provides athletic footwork on the road ahead because of its RWD layout, meaning that you can do some drifting as long as you find a way to disable its traction control system and stability management. Forget about what I said but anyway, the new 1 Series hatchback offers a TwinPower Turbo L4 Petrol engine for the 116i and 118i variants, and a TwinPower Turbo L4 diesel engine for the 116d, 118d and 120d variants. The TwinPower Turbo L4 gasoline engine equipped on the BMW 116i can accumulate a fuel economy of 17.2 to 18.2km/L combined and 17 to 17.9km/L combined when this engine's equipped on the BMW 118i. The BMW 116d gets a combined fuel economy of 22.2 to 23.3km/L while the 118d gets about 22.2 to 22.7km/L of combined fuel economy and the 120d gets a combined fuel economy of 21.7 to 22.7km/L. These fuel efficiency measures are thanks to the new ECO PRO mode , regenerative braking, and the idling stop function for optimized fuel economy. The new ECO PRO mode allows drivers to record fuel consumption records in real time. Depending on the variant, the new 1 Series is offered with three transmission types such as a 6-speed manual transmission, 8-speed automatic sports transmission Steptronic, and a 8-speed automatic transmission Steptronic.

With the Standard, Sport Line, and Urban Line offered on the new 1-Series, and depending on which style you're on, the new BMW F20 1-Series is available in various color variations such as Black Sapphire, Tiefseeblau, Glaciersilber, Midnight Blue, Mineralgrau, Alpinweiss, Schwarz, and Karmesinrot. The available Sport Line and Urban Line allows customers the option to paint the side mirrors White (for the Urban Line) and Black (for the Sport Line).

My comment:
The new BMW F20 1-Series looks scary on the outside but on the inside, it can be somewhat addicting thanks to the available technology offered and the BMW ConnectedDrive feature that keeps them entertained. With three different kinds available such as the Standard, Urban Line, and Sport Line, finding the right personality for the new 1-Series is all about choices and decisions to make. To provide the essence of fuel economy, a new ECO MODE is added and with the combined forces of the idling stop function and regenerative braking, you can have the most fuel-efficient FR hatch offered from BMW. What makes me jelly (jealous) is the twin turbo gasoline and diesel engines offered to bring out more fun unlike any other rivals.

The only 1-Series variant available is the 5-door hatchback so you have to make do with it, folks.

1シリーズMクーペ X 河口まなぶ

Japanese motoring journalist, Manabu Kawaguchi, tells all about the BMW 1 Series M Coupe! On that video; Manabu Kawaguchi explains more about his impressions about the 1 Series M Coupe, the junior elite of the BMW M Power, while making the laps at the Sodegaura Forest Raceway. We were happy to see that video having Kawaguchi-san got behind the wheel of the junior elite member of the BMW M Power line-up, which is the BMW 1-Series M Coupe!

BOOM GOES THE DYNAMITE!

2012 BMW 1 Series M Coupe

There I said it. BOOM GOES THE DYNAMITE! Why? Because reports said that the BMW 1 Series M Coupe, launched in the Philippines last week, had every last model sold out. Or should I say, all limited units of the BMW 1 Series M Coupe are all been spoken for, in short, SOLD OUT! Wow, that was quick.

The first two units were spoken for while the following six would arrive from 4th quarter 2011. Remember, production of the 1-Series M Coupe is limited until December 2011 so better wish to have one of these!

BMW 1-Series M Coupe (E82) and BMW 6-Series Convertible (F12)

2012 BMW 1-Series M Coupe

2012 BMW 6-Series Cabrio

The debut of the BMW 1-Series M Coupe and the BMW 6-Series Cabrio's full model change really sparked BMW fans from the Philippines everywhere. With distributor Asian Carmakers behind this, we were surprised to see these two new stars arrived in our shores.

For power, we would recommend the new BMW 1-Series M Coupe but act fast because it's a limited edition model. This latest M car is powered with the new 3.0L 6-cylinder M TwinPower Turbo engine that produces 340HP of power, 450Nm of torque and 0-100kph in 4.9 seconds. It costs 5,540,000 Philippine Pesos.

For the grand-touring experience, we recommend seeing the BMW 6-Series Convertible F12. The new BMW F12 is available in two engine types such as the N55B30 3.0L L6 TwinPower TurboValvetronic engine for the 640i and a N63B44 4.4L TwinPower Turbo direct injection engine for the 650i. The BMW 640i Cabrio equipped with the N55B30 3.0L L6 TwinPower Turbo Valvetronic engine is equipped with the idling stop function courtesy of BMW EfficientDynamics. Both of them are powered with the 8-speed sports automatic gearbox. The 640i Cabrio's price is 8,780,000 Philippine Pesos while the 650i Cabrio's price starts at 10,780,000 Philippine Pesos.

Two cars that are too little too late but worth trying it

The Audi RS3 Sportback

The BMW 1-Series M Coupe

Two of these high-performance compacts arrived a little too late of their lifespans but worth getting used to. When I compare both of these high-performance compacts, what can I expect? Both the Audi RS3 Sportback and BMW 1-Series M Coupe are highly offensive and both of the turbocharged engines are set to the offensive because they are trying to defend something.

However, I'm not going to see who's got the offense. Let's hand the comparison over to our friends from Auto Express shall we?

The verdict? The Audi RS3 is way quicker than the BMW 1 Series M Coupe because of its quattro technology that brings advantage to the RS3 against the 1M Coupe's FR layout.

BMW 1-Series M Coupe

2012 BMW 1-Series M Coupe

The BMW 1-Series M Coupe might be highly late to the party (because of the upcoming 1-Series coming soon) but it can be the belle of the ball if those high-performance car enthusiasts are willing to say shotgun to the latest addition to the BMW M range. Like the Audi RS3 Sportback, the BMW 1-Series M Coupe arrived late for class but accelerated to the highest level of overall enthusiasm.

2012 BMW 1-Series M Coupe interior

The front view of the 1-Series M Coupe features a sporty front bumper courtesy of BMW M Power, providing the most aggressive face only hardcore drivers brave enough to stare against the 1 M Coupe's terrifying facial aggression. The face is not only we could be afraid of, even the side skirts, M badging, and the modified rear bumper is what something we should be bracing ourselves. With these exterior details, the invasion has just begun.

On the interior side, we are surprised that we are finally take control of the brute force by observing its bloody red stitching that adds vigor on the 1 Series M Coupe's interior. The instrumental panel seems to be carrying the tradition of BMW M Power cars but its still knows what we are doing, trying to push this car to the limits. The sports seats with red stitching make us feel like we are greeted with great power and a fresh smell of leather wrapped on the hungry mongrel. Every interior detail is the joy of expressing how cool is this M Power version of the BMW 1-Series Coupe. That's my point.

What else? The BMW 1-Series M Coupe is powered with the 3.0-litre BMW M TwinPower Turbo petrol engine that is loaded with 340 PS of power, 450 Nm of torque, top speed of 250 km/h, 4.9 seconds in the 0-100km run, consumes 9.6 Liter/100 km (combined), CO2 emissions of 224 g/km, and its Euro V compliant. The standard 6-speed manual transmission is the epitome of fandom, making this a real fun-to-drive 2-door coupe that will shun its competitors. A special M Dynamic Mode is added to take advantage of its DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) and other features for handling control unlike any other.

It comes in three colors; Valencia Orange metallic, Saphirschawrz metallic, and Alpineweiβ uni.

My comment:
The BMW 1-Series M Coupe might seem to be arrived late but this could be a kick-in-a-pants to drive. The good side about the 1-Series M Coupe is that it has the three-pedal goodness we, car enthusiasts, love to take action on the Autobahn. If you are willing to bring the 1-Series M Coupe to the Shutokou or the touge, it's up to you because this is not your average sports car targeted for the hardcore enthusiasts. One hot mama you can't resist because of its Twin Turbo engine and the 6-speed manual transmission we all love to shift.

Ha! After teasing us with heavily camouflaged prototypes, pics, and videos, it seems that BMW M Power revealed the much anticipated 1 Series M Coupe after all!

GOTCHA!

Ready for its NAIAS launch this January and commercialization starts this Summer 2011, this would be the best addition to the BMW M range.

For me, I think this car's a bit too little too late because of the upcoming BMW 1-Series hatch coming soon next year, but this M Coupe will rock our hearts!

It's suspicious that BMW M Power nicknamed the 1 Series M Coupe the "Pirate" because it has a characteristics of a pirate. ARRRRGGHH!

Whoa, no time for pirate stuff OK? This 1 Series M Coupe is the real 1 Series M Coupe, coming next year!

Who's ready?

Well, guess I had fun with my mock-up of the BMW 1 M Coupe test mule at Forza 3 (actually an ordinary BMW 1 Coupe kitted with aero parts and designed to look like the 1 M Coupe mule)
