To Aru Majutsu to Kagaku no Ensemble

In celebration of Ascii Media Works' 20th year, there's going to be a movie version of the hit TV anime series "To Aru Majutsu no Index" under the banner "To Aru Majutsu no Index Endymion no Kiseki", which will hit theaters this Saturday across Japan but before that, there's a new PSP game that combines all of your favorite characters from two To Aru series. That's right, your favorite characters from To Aru Majutsu no Index and To Aru Kagaku no Railgun joined forces for this one-of-a-kind video game that some say it took place before the film.

To Aru Majutsu to Kagaku no Ensemble is an icing in the cake that really sums it up for Ascii Media Works' 20th birthday but this is just more than just a birthday present to ASCII. Aside from meeting up with your favorite characters from the To Aru franchise such as Index, Toma Kamijo, Mikoto Misaka, Kuroko Shirai, Styil Magnus, Kaori Kanzaki, Kazari Uiharu, Ruiko Saten, Accelerator, Last Order, Sisters, and other characters from the franchise, you can also expect original in-game characters as well. If that wasn't surprising, there's a special character waiting in the game and Alisa Meigo from the upcoming Endymion no Kiseki film makes a very special appearance on Ensemble.

Ensemble takes place before Endymion no Kiseki and the storyline made by the series creator Kazuma Kamachi were purely original meaning that this is an all-original storyline made for this game. While the game begins at their respective routes of the Science Side and the Magic Side, the two routes intertwine at a certain point. Like most games, Ensemble is depend on the player's decision because it has choices, multiple approaches, multiple paths, and multiple tools you can expect on this game. Choose your path and you'll be facing some crucial consequences of your actions and it's up to you how the Ensemble story unfolds.

As a headsup, To Aru Majutsu to Kagaku no Ensemble was developed by the same blokes behind Toradora Portable and Oreimo Portable. We're talking about Guyzware, the developer. Which means that there's a bit of a clever Live 2D System that you expect from other games, the Live 2D System lets the character change moods as you scroll your way to the story so far.

A good effort all round and for a To Aru fan, I think that the Ensemble PSP game is the biggest treat for any To Aru fan who just can't wait for Saturday's big movie.

LIMITED EDITION:

Although the game may cost you 6,280 Yen, there's a limited edition offered for 9,980 Yen as well. For the Limited Edition, which is a must have for any To Aru fan around here, not only you can get the PSP game but also comes with 4 Chibi-Kyun mini-figures: two of the returning heroines Misaka and Index, and the other two of Urepady Exica and Hibiki Kukimoto. It will also bundle a stage set for the figures and come in a box with an exclusive illustration by the animators at J.C. Staff.

THE IDOLM@STER Shiny Festa

THE IDOLM@STER, this title seems to be familiar if you are a complete speed freak. It's a game that pits you as the producer and nurture the idols of 765 Productions to fame and stardom. They did have a PSP game on it but now, in 2012, they're back. THE IDOLM@STER's back on the PSP. It's the new THE IDOLM@STER SHINY FESTA but however there's a bit of a problem. Which version of SHINY FESTA do I want?

HONEY SOUND - with Haruka Amami, Chihaya Kisaragi, Azusa Miura, and Ritsuko Akizuki

THE IDOLM@STER Shiny Festa
Honey Sound

GROOVY TUNE - with Miki Hoshi, Takane Shijou, Makoto Kikuchi, and Yukiho Hagiwara

THE IDOLM@STER Shiny Festa
Groovy Tune

or

FUNKY NOTE - with Ami and Mami Futami, Hibiki Ganaha, Yayoi Takatsuki, and Iori Minase

THE IDOLM@STER Shiny Festa
Funky Note

If I was that geek in Japan shopping for one of these, my choice is simple. I went the one with Haruka, Chihaya, Azusa, and Ritsuko on it.

About Shiny Festa, this game is becoming a "rhythm action" game, much like the Hatsune Miku Project Diva video games before. So what you gonna do is simple, you gonna need a lot of concentration and timing to push the buttons right while listening to your favorite IDOLM@STER songs. Because I can't explain that on words, why don't we let the promo videos do the talking?

Oh wait! I almost forgot. Each version comes with a new anime footage and some bonus extras. The people from Aniplex's A-1 Pictures and director Atsushi Nishigori from the TV anime adaptation of THE IDOLM@STER, are now responsible for those three anime stuff included in three versions. Like I said, HONEY SOUND - with Haruka Amami, Chihaya Kisaragi, Azusa Miura, and Ritsuko Akizuki. GROOVY TUNE - with Miki Hoshi, Takane Shijou, Makoto Kikuchi, and Yukiho Hagiwara. And FUNKY NOTE - with Ami and Mami Futami, Hibiki Ganaha, Yayoi Takatsuki, and Iori Minase. Each run about 23 minutes for you to enjoy.

WAIT! According to Namco Bandai, those who pre-ordered will get a "backstage pass" that allows buyers to log into the limited premium shop site, a product code for "The world is all one!!" song, and a serial number for obtaining an exclusive Haruka Amami idol card in the separate Idolmaster Cinderella Girls game.

So, how can I say about this game? Even though it has three different versions, the gameplay is still has some Project Diva push-button stuff to keep it in the rhythm. It's either a good, perfect, almost, or a miss but with such effort, your effort pays off.

Leopaul's Heaven and Hell: Limited Edition PSP Games in Japan

The arrival of the PSVita is the sign we are going to wave goodbye to the old PSP but in Japan, they decided to give it another go because most PSP video games inspired from anime series will come out next year with a limited edition bundle that includes a figure. Next year, you should expect the Madoka Magica PSP game with the limited edition that includes the Madoka figma, and the new Milky Holmes 2 PSP game will include a Nendoroid.

PSP games and Good Smile Company are now "hand in hand" and GSC often creating exclusive figmas and Nendoroids that are synonymous to PSP games in the future.

They don't really let go of the PSP, aren't they? Despite the arrival of the PSVita, there still be new PSP games in Japan for the year 2012! Of course, most Japanese will expect arrivals of a new Oreimo PSP game, Heroes Fantasia, or even the Nendoroid Generation game that stars none other than, Nendoroids!

Here in America, the PSP is almost dead and it's nearer to call it "endangered species" when the PSVita will go on sale this February 22, 2012. I checked on the Gamestop website and the list of PSP games for 2012 is few. There will be Hakuoki, MLB 2K12, and Gungnir. I'm sorry to say that the PSP is now an endangered species but don't worry. You can play PSP games on the PSVita but instead you have to buy it at the PlaystationStore.

I have no idea why a country like Japan giving the PSP a second chance in life because of upcoming PSP games in Japan. Over the years in Japan, we see limited edition PSP games with bundles that is far more than what you called "Exclusive Taste". Wonder what happen if there will be limited edition PSVita games that has a figma or Nendoroid bundled on it? Not happened...yet, but soon, it will become a reality and PSP is officially dead in the eyes of gamers.

That concludes my another "Heaven and Hell" story...

Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha A's Portable -THE GEARS OF DESTINY-

Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha A's Portable
-THE GEARS OF DESTINY-

The second Nanoha movie, titled Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha The Movie 2nd A's doesn't come out until Summer 2012, but this sparked a second Nanoha PSP game that exceeds expectations from 2010's Battle of Aces. Titled Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha A's Portable -THE GEARS OF DESTINY-, it handles the same as The Battle of Aces but with new gameplay features, new original storyline, and new characters for you to battle.

Players can fit as their favorite characters such as Nanoha Takamachi, Fate Testarossa, Hayate Yagami, Vivio, Arf, Yuno, Signum, Zafira, Vita, Reinforce, Shamal, and most of your favorites from the three Nanoha anime series. The game welcomes two new original characters for this game and their names were Amitie Florian (played by Haruka Tomatsu) and Kyrie Florian (played by Satomi Sato).

Battle your way through the end with the Story Mode or use Ad-Hoc to compete with a friend, that's your choice. What matters is that the ZOE-style gameplay really lets players use some magic attacks to whisk away their rivals until their HP Gauge goes down to zero. Also, you can take advantage with the Skill System to change the pace and giving you the edge to fight. What's new is the "Lyrical Point" that you can gain when you play through the game and earn more in order to purchase new costumes for characters. If you have a BATTLE OF ACES save data, you can gain special NAMCO costumes on THE GEARS OF DESTINY!

There's the GOD BOX, which is a limited collector's edition which includes not just the PSP game, but also comes with three special Nendoroid Petit Materials set, special DVD, Weiss Schwarz Nanoha GOD Trial Deck, Nanoha GOD shower curtain, and two air cushions starring the Florian sisters! For the launch bonus, there are two special Weiss Schwarz cards and a promotion code for special costumes for Nanoha and Fate!

To Aru Kagaku no Railgun (PSP Game)

To Aru Kagaku no Railgun
(PSP Game)

Now, after the launch of the To Aru Majutsu no Index video game for the PSP last January 2011, it seems that most To Aru fans love this game but one question is that is there will be a To Aru Kagaku no Railgun PSP game and Kadokawa Games took the answer, well at least so after facing several delays following the March 11 earthquake and tsunami disaster and of course, the Thai flooding since October 2011. The arrival of the To Aru Kagaku no Railgun PSP game is definitely a dream come true but this is not what it means to be.

The To Aru Kagaku no Railgun PSP game features an all new original adventure for Mikoto Misaka, Kuroko Shirai, Kazari Uiharu, and Ruiko Saten. Unlike the Majutsu no Index game, which is a fighting game, the Kagaku no Railgun PSP game is just a hopeless visual novel game with the "Action Part" that is somewhat similar to games like Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker and Need For Speed: The Run, the part where you have to push buttons while on a cutscene.

Of course, being just a pointless visual novel with an original storyline, that part features two modes as the game progresses such as "Girls Talk Mode" where this was focused like some kind of a dating sim game and "Judgement Mode" where players are focusing on choices. Careful though that your choices at Judgement Mode will affect the outcome of the game. Aside from that, you can enjoy the anime cutscenes at the game and this looks cool.

Logically then, it could and it should have been a must have for the Railgun fans but it was somewhat becoming just a pointless visual novel game with various confusing routes.

I wonder what will happened if I have a Railgun PSP save data, an Index PSP save data with Toma Kamijo finished in Story Mode, and an Index PSP game? Could it trigger a bonus story at the Majutsu no Index PSP game?

Keep in mind that the theme song from the Railgun PSP game is "way to answer" by fripSide. Great way to hear this, huh? This maxi single will be on sale this December 14.

LIMITED EDITION:
The To Aru Kagaku no Railgun (PSP Game) Limited Edition features not just the game itself but also a special Kuroko Shirai figma made by Good Smile Company's Max Factory division.

Another delay for a much awaited Railgun PSP game

"11月23日に発売を予定しておりましたPSPソフト『とある科学の超電磁砲』ですが、
更なるクオリティアップのため、発売日を変更させていただくことになりました。
正式な発売日は決定次第、公式ホームページなどでお知らせいたします。"

Notice this? It seems that the To Aru Kagaku no Railgun PSP video game gets delayed again! This is going to made us very upset about that special Kuroko Shirai figma made exclusively for the Limited Edition packaging. Reason for this delay remains unknown for now...

Busou Shinki Battle Masters Mk.2

Busou Shinki Battle Masters Mk.2

With the success of last year's Busou Shinki Batle Masters PSP game, the introduction of the all new Busou Shinki Batle Masters Mk.2 enhances the Busou Shinki experience even further through new parts, new battles, new arenas, new challenges, and a new wide selection of Busou Shinki models waiting for you to own it.

And by saying wide selection, Battle Masters Mk.2 offers some of your favorite Busou Shinki models such as Arnval Mk.2 (CV: Kana Asumi), Strarf Mk.2 (CV: Misato Fukuen), Howling (CV: Eri Kitamura), Maochao (CV: Mai Hashimoto), Fubuki (CV: Yukari Fukui), Zelnogrard (CV: Ryoko Shiraishi), Arc (CV: Yui Horie), Yda (CV: Yukari Tamura), Altlene (CV: Megumi Nakajima), and Altines (CV: Kaori Mizuhashi). There was an addition of new Busou Shinki models you might be highly interested with such as Eukrante (CV: Emiri Kato), Ianeira (CV: Marina Inoue), Tsugaru (CV: Rie Kugimiya), and much more. Other Busou Shinki models can be attainable by purchasing some add-on contents from the Playstation Network Store. Each model costs about 600 Japanese Yen and it takes some minor space on your PSP's Memory Stick Duo.

The goal of this game is simple, buy your very own Busou Shinki and work your way to the top to become an F1 Champion while winning the heart of your Busou Shinki model. This ain't going to be easy because you will need some parts and modifications which are essential for your Shinki's speed, defense, attack, evasion, and others.

This gameplay is just like the first one, it has some Zone of the Enders-style gameplay but only you have to take down your rival Shinki in order to win. When you're taking a break from a battle, you can take your Shinki outside and chat. It's like Zone of the Enders meets Loveplus, making it a unique chemistry but your duty to become the F1 champion is a long road ahead.

Plus more, there is a Profile Import feature where your hard work done from the first Battle Masters video game can be carried over to Mk.2 so you can have as much fun if possible but still a long road ahead to become an F1 champion.

LIMITED EDITION:
The limited edition packaging, exclusively on Konamistyle, not only includes the game but two Busou Shinki figures such as Arnval Mk.2 and Strarf Mk. 2 are included, bonus DLC card, swimwear editions of both Arnval Mk.2 and Strarf Mk. 2, two sets of folders, and an Original Soundtrack of the game as well. The standard version is available now with the limited edition will be available at the end of September.

Railgun PSP game to arrive this late November

It says it all. The upcoming To Aru Kagaku no Railgun PSP game will hit stores this November 2011 and this game is more like a visual novel to them. Check out the first screenshot of this game;

Looks nice, right? Some say, that limited edition packaging will include a Kuroko Shirai figma courtesy of Max Factory. Looks like we'll better start saving for this kind of packaging right before the late November release of the Railgun PSP game!

The PSN account's "Swerteng Malas"

If Natasha alyas Ansha says;

"Swerte ka kung meron kang PSN (Playstation Network) account pero ang malas mo kung may isang taong nag-hack sa PSN account mo."

This caused an outrage among PSN account users. Most of them will never gonna play online with games like Metal Gear Online, SOCOM 4, or even use the Ad-Hoc Party function to play Monster Hunter Freedom Unite and Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker cooperatively.

In other related terms, some anonymous hacker hacked our PSN account, our names, addresses, zip codes, almost everything. Oh, damn it, damn it, damn it!

Even I got affected on this issue!

ANG MALAS KO NAMAN...(-_-;)

Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake Ga Nai Portable

Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni
Kawaii Wake Ga Nai portable

For twelve episodes, the controversial but irresistible anime TV series, Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake Ga Nai, or Oreimo for short (日本名:俺の妹がこんなに可愛いわけがない) leaves otakus craving for the super-cute little sister of Kyosuke, named Kirino Kousaka. As they know, most of them love Kirino but it's not just her cuteness but also her voice that is similar from K-ON's Azusa Nakano. Most of the Oreimo fans love Kirino but some prefer Kuroneko, whose full name is Ruri Goko.

No wonder this anime ended in a 12-episode basis after facing several controversies, including the episode 2 problem at Anime News Network. I guess this is somewhat problematic for this show but in partial terms of endearment; the PSP video game of Oreimo is now here and bring the misfits of Kirino and the gang wherever you go in Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake Ga Nai Portable!

This game is somewhat similar to Toradora Portable but with some tweaks to keep Oreimo fans craving on what's next. Well, actually, Oreimo Portable is a dating sim game which leaves players a few choices to deal with, affecting how the story goes and the characters progress. Features of the game that made me hard to understand include the O.I.U. system, Real Time Tsukkomi System, "if route", and ORE (Order Record Effect) System.

With the game-play seems to be more stressing, Oreimo Portable is quite possibly as irresistible as Kirino Kousaka and Kuroneko!

Who cares? There's no way this PSP game is dull but fun to play...

PACKAGING:

1) Standard Package includes the game and a special DVD in place of an instructional booklet called "How to Imo-Talk DVD". Use the Live2D feature to make use of it!

2) A Limited Edition "Zuttoko No Mama" Pack includes the Oreimo Portable game and a special booklet!

3) The Ultimate Oreimo Limited Edition Package; the "Imouto no Koi Shiyo" Pack includes the Oreimo Portable game, 5 stick posters, special DVD, special booklet, and a special game called "Imouto no Koi Shiyo!" exclusively on this package!

EASTER EGGS: There is a part of the Oreimo Portable where the Oreimo girls cosplayed as the girls from To Aru Majutsu no Index, as part of the Oreimo-Index II collaboration. See Kirino as Mikoto Misaka, Kuroneko as Index, or even Saori as Kaori Kanzaki! It's a major major party party!! Say LOL!

CAST:

Ayana Taketatsu (Azusa Nakano from K-ON!) as Kirino Kousaka

Satomi Sato (Ritsu Tainaka from K-ON!) as Manami Tamura

Hitomi Nabatame (Yukiji Katsura from Hayate the Combat Butler!) as Saori Vageena (Saori Makishima)

Kana Hanazawa (Sakura Hanazono from Maid Sama!) as Kuroneko (Ruri Goko)

Saori Hayami as Ayase Aragaki

...and others.

すごぉいの来てますけど?!

Kirino Kousaka and Index at
the cover of the February 2011 issue of
Dengenki PlayStation

The question says it all;

すごぉいの来てますけど?!

That's what Japanese said because tomorrow, in January 27, both the Oreimo Portable and Index PSP are coming on sale.

Part of the Oreimo-Index II collaboration, both Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni kawaii Wake ga Nai Portable and To Aru Majutsu no Index PSP are here and it's like two birds in one stone!

Oreimo Portable is a dating sim game pits you in the misadventures of Kirino Kousaka, Kuroneko, and the gang while To Aru Majutsu no Index PSP is a fighting game where you get to pit as Toma, Biribiri, Accelerator, Kuroko, Stiyl Magnus, Kanzaki, and the rest.

And yes, there are easter eggs on both of these; Kirino Kousaka guest stars on Majutsu no Index PSP and in some part on Oreimo Portable where the Oreimo girls cosplaying as Index girls (Biribiri, Kanzaki, Index, and the other Index girls).

This will leave them saying;

すごぉいの来てますけど?!

Let "Biribiri" and "Judgment Desu No" lead your way...

With the choice between Mikoto Misaka (CV: Rina Satou) and Kuroko Shirai (CV: Satomi Arai), this special pack gives the Maplus 3 fully charged like a railgun!

Misshitsu no Sacrifice ~Jitka: Aru Heisa Shisetsu Kara no Dasshutsu~

If you are done with the new mystery suspense game, Misshitsu no Sacrifice, if you have an amount of 600 yen, and your PlaystationStore account active, this must be the chance to obtain the spin-off from the mysterious game revolving the story of five girls searching the truth about the Foundation (aside with multiple endings to choose from).

In this Misshitsu no Sacrifice spin-off, this game allows players to take Jitka in their own hands. What they want on Jitka is up to them (and things never been so complicated as playing the Jitka chapters from Misshitsu no Sacrifice, which are very complicating to solve).

There are so many Event CGs of Jitka to collect. Think you can find it all just by playing the entire game? Besides, the only thing that appeals is the costumes Jitka wears.

Check it out at http://www.d3p.co.jp/jitka_sacrifice/

If Index gets its own PSP game, will Railgun gets it own?

With the success of the second season of To Aru Majutsu No Index, titled To Aru Majutsu no Index II, it seems we are getting anxious to watch more of Index II or even better, waiting for the PSP game of Majutsu no Index this winter.

Yes I know, this winter, To Aru Majutsu no Index fits straight to PSP, as a fighting game. Do we otakus really really like it?

For fans of the recently ended anime, now waiting for its OVA release, To Aru Kagaku no Railgun, the question they asked is, "Will Railgun get its own PSP game as Index did?"

As of that, a certain 2channeler posted some magazine photo with a page containing the details.

A certain 2channeler photographed some magazine page about the Railgun PSP details

A certain 2channeler could be right. Kagaku no Railgun for PSP could be rather more of a visual novel game, with the decisions up to the player. Kinda like Misshitsu no Sacrifice, even better. On the teaser site, commercialization for this game starts this Spring 2011.

Hope I'll catch up to both of these!

Everyone's going to like them both because of Mikoto "Biribiri" Misaka!

K-On! Houkago Live!!

K-On! Houkago Live!!

Moments after the second season of K-on (日本名:けいおん!) ended in a not so major major way, there is a major major surprise for those who enjoyed the anime and listened to the songs from K-On. K-On Houkago Live is here and bringing the K-On fever to your PSP wherever you go.

The gameplay is much more similar to the Hatsune Miku Project Diva game, because you have to press consecutive buttons shown in the screen and be as accurate as you can while enjoying the song. K-On! Houkago Live!! features 19 songs such as the opening theme and closing theme of the first season, songs from the Hokago Tea Time album, or even songs from the Character Image Song series. Depending on the choice of five characters; Yui Hirasawa (CV: Aki Toyosaki), Mio Akiyama (CV: Yoko Hikasa), Ritsu Tainaka (CV: Satomi Sato), Tsumugi Kotobuki (CV: Minako Kotobuki), and Azusa Nakano (CV:Ayana Taketatsu), and depending on the difficulty setting, enjoying your favorite K-On song while accurately pressing buttons can be somewhat of a challenge. The better you play, the higher your rank and score is and you'll score some numerous items, some are useful, some are just for fun, or even something else.

Did you know, you can have up to 5 players via Ad-hoc to enjoy playing Houkago Time as a group and play cooperatively to gain a higher score.

There is also a surprise part, this game turns your PSP into a clock featuring one of your Hokago Tea Time girls; Yui, Mio, Ritsu, Tsumugi, and Azu-nyan, I mean, Azusa. At a random time, you will hear a dialog from your favorite character. Not much of a surprise but it's fine for the fans.

LIMITED EDITON:
A limited-edition item includes not just the game itself but also 5 UMD Cases, a PSP pouch, and a guitar-designed Cover to personalize the PSP just for you. There is another limited edition in a form of six PSP stickers to put it at the rear of the PSP to play Houkago Live in style. Hurry up because these are in a limited quantity basis. First come, first served!

Heiwa to Kazuhira no Blues - What is it all about?

I saw something added on the line-up of MGSPW items:

If I look down on that page, I noticed that Peace Walker will have a Drama CD as what Hideo Kojima announced earlier that month. It's not just a Drama CD, they'll also have two character songs included, plus BGMs never before released in the Original Soundtrack.

Two character songs will be led by Akio Otsuka (as Snake) and Tomokazu Sugita (as Kazuhira "Kaz" Miller), so if you guys haven't heard of it, this will come out on this CD this fall.

Akio Otsuka, as Snake, will sing "Showa Blues" and Tomokazu Sugita, as Miller, will sing "Minato no Yoko Yokohama Yokosuka", making fans more interesting.

Hope I can pre-order that CD...
