My FH5 Log: "WE MAKE DRIFTS"

Aside from the junk cars and the AMG GT Black Series offered in the FH5 Upgrade Heroes update, there are two additional Formula Drift cars as well with one a new version of the familiar drift car driven by Chris Forsberg, and the other driven by one of the Donut Media boys for PROSPEC class.

First up is the #64 Forsberg Racing Nissan Z that I won as the overall prize in the Upgrade Heroes playlist. Used in the 2023 season of Formula Drift Pro Championship, it's based on the RZ34 Nissan Fairlady Z but with the 3.8L V6 Twin Turbo engine from the Nissan GT-R stuffed in it and juiced to produce a thousand horsepower.

Lastly, the #51 Donut Media Nissan 240SX drift car that I've obtained has mingled through the Donut Media Low Car story's Bumper 2 Bumper segment. It's a Nissan Silvia S14A jammed with an LQ9 engine, it's been driven by Donut Media's Adam Knapik for the PROSPEC class.

Normally, I would rather compare these two drift cars to see which one is the best but sadly, that would be pointless to compare drift cars because they're focused mostly on drifting rather than doing laps. Luckily, I had a brainwave...

First off, I decided to give the #64 Forsberg Racing Nissan Z a little exhibition drift in my own version of a certain classic track from a certain classic racing game I can't mention. Okay, it's my version of GT2's Motor Sports Land and if anyone's interested, I'll tell you the share code, it's 147 528 997.

Next up, I took the #51 Donut Media Nissan 240SX drift car on a little timewarp to Ancient Rome with a 10-lap drift track created by Forza player "l Wizzle l". Credit to the owner, as always.

As I said, if anyone's interested in this Ancient Rome drift track created by a certain Forza player, here's the share code: 175 263 128

These drift cars really know how to make a statement...

Enjoy your new rides!

My GT7 Log: A different kind of S13

The S13 Silvia and the 180SX may look different but underneath, they're basically the same machine. Despite their similarities, that hasn't stopped speedo boys from driving one of these S13 twins.

Because the S13 Silvia and the 180SX run on the same mechanicals, a handful of speedo boys gave birth to a Frankenstein-ish machine that is basically a 180SX with the S13 Silvia's front. They've called it the Sileighty.

The Sileighty is what happens when you have the 180SX went to the plastic surgery and got its face swapped with the S13 Silvia's. As a matter of fact, this is what I believe to be the forefather of face-swapping tuner cars because this is what speedo boys do most of the time; swapping faces of other vehicles, be it a successor or predecessor of their current vehicle. There's a well-known tidbit that despite not being a bonafide Nissan, a certain Nissan dealership sold 500 units of Sileighty.

Another well-known tidbit is that the Sileighty appeared in Initial D as Mako Sato's car of choice and it battled against Takumi's AE86 Trueno in a one-on-one street race. The Sileighty's appearance in Initial D caused a widespread reception among speedo boys who witnessed this iconic moment, wishing they want to have the exact car that Mako drove in the series.

Here we are, the Sileighty made a comeback as a used car in Gran Turismo 7 for a very limited time so if you got the money, now's the time to do it because if it's sold out, you're going to wait several days, weeks, or months for this car to come back. Anyway, now that I got my hands on the peculiar S13, I decided to give this a little twirl in Tsukuba, just to find out how good this is.

As expected, the Sileighty drives like both of the machines it was based on, and because of its compact rear-wheel-drive layout, you can smoke this car through the corners like a drift car. No wonder speedo boys pushed this car to its critical limit, transforming this Frankenstein-ish Nissan into either a track toy or a drifting machine but still drifting is what the Sileighty does best.

Anyway, no time to talk. It's time to find out just how fast the Sileighty does around Tsukuba. Roll the tape.

The Sileighty did it in 1:13.450. Not a bad result, though.

The Sileighty spearheaded the popular trend of face-swapping tuner cars for the fun of it and this chimera of a JDM car deserves some credit. For a 180SX wearing the S13 Silvia's front face, this is by no means one of the coolest machines ever existed.

Experience the Sileighty on GT7 today!

Forza Horizon 3: Ready Go, FR.

We already got our hands on the S14 Nissan Silvia as an event car back at last month's Forzathon event but the S14 we got was a "Zenki" S14 Silvia and fans from around the world demanded a late-model S14 Silvia, referred to as a "Kouki" S14 Silvia to be here in Horizon 3. They've been demanding this ride since the birth of the Forza franchise a decade ago and at long last, it's here and its ready to shred some tires.

The "Kouki" S14 Silvia, from Forza Horizon 3's Alpinestars Car Pack, is by no means one of the most demanded rides in the history of Forza and now that's finally here, fans can't wait to try out a car that remains a hit among speedo boys worldwide for its drifting reputation and its Frankenstein tuning that no one saw it coming.

Let me give you a quick story about how those Frankenstein creations to their JDM sportscars became a speedo boys' trend. You see a long time ago, speedo boys from Japan created a machine called a "Sileighty" which is an 180SX with a Silvia's front end on it. Thanks to the Sileighty, speedo boys from across the world are doing that kind of stuff and the S14 is no exception. If you went to a drifting competition a long time ago, you may have encounter an S14 with an S15's front face on it, which is a mashup between two different generations no one can tell the difference between those two, and what you see is a fine example of how speedo boys doing Frankenstein stuff on their sportscars not just for show but for their "bravado" manner as speedo boys who are good at drifting with their Asian sportscars.

For further explanation about how the S14 "Kouki" Silvia became a hit among speedo boys who can bend it like Frankenstein, there is a special Rocket Bunny "Boss" kit offered on this S14 Kouki and with this kind of body kit, the S14 Kouki's front face looks similar to American muscle cars while delivering a stance with a capital S. That will be enough to appeal speedo boys who love to drive the best 90's Japanese sports cars in history. You can thank Rocket Bunny's Miura-san for that later but for now, I'm off to some shooting with this car and it's time for the S14 Kouki with the Rocket Bunny Boss kit to do some action!

Ready Go, FR.

So, there you are. If you got an S14 Zenki Silvia from a special event and if you're unhappy with it, look no further than driving the S14 Kouki Silvia Down Under. The differences between them can be slight but as you keep enjoying with these two, you will know the real deal. If you like both the S14 Silvias, feel free to drive different Asian sportscars offered in-game and how you live it up to their reputations is up to you.

Until then, sayonara!

Forza Horizon 3: My #Forzathon toy!

See this S14 Silvia here? I won this from a one-day only Forzathon challenge in Forza Horizon 3. To those who know what Forzathon is, its a series of challenges offered through the week. Last week involves set of comedy horns, which packs a joke of a honk when you honk at your nearest driver. Now, they've offered this special car by doing this particular challenge like this:

"Score 35,000 points in a Drift Zone with the Toyota Trueno to win the Nissan Silvia K's 94"

I know it had to be any drift zone, be it a completed one or not, but if anyone can get to the target drift score set for this Forzathon challenge with the specific car, anyone can get this S14 Silvia for keeps and like you and I, we got the keys to the S14 Silvia, one of the most popular drift cars for speedo boys elsewhere. If you missed it, there is a chance it will appear on future events.

Speedo boys will happily notice that the S14 Nissan Silvia is just one of the selected few to come with bodykits and the bodykit offered is a Rocket Bunny kit, which makes it less discreet but with some stance to woo the speedo boys elsewhere. Ah, speedo boys. They sure love to meddle with their cars not just by looks but the way it drives and because the S14 Silvia is a popular drifting machine for the speedo boys, they can turn theirs into a freak show by giving it lots and lots of power and turn its handling unnecessarily out of control. Sounds dangerous but that's the way they want to do with their newly acquired Forzathon prize.

Excuse me while I'm taking a little time out with my new toy...
