Nintendo Wii U

With sales of the current Wii have plummeted thanks to the XBOX 360 and the PS3, it seems that Nintendo decided not to give up on their resources regardless of competition and the customer satisfaction. So when Nintendo decided to create a brand new console, it was like, hey! Let's make a totally different console to get ourselves on top! And there's the result of their R&D done...

Nintendo Wii U

Here it is and what Nintendo do is a console that that has a controller that looks like a portable hand-held device but really is a controller for this console. It's kinda dramatic but what Nintendo made is just a side-story to the Wii. Welcome everyone to the brand new Wii U. It maybe just an evolution of the family-favorite Wii but does it have the pros to get Nintendo back on top?

First of all, let's talk about this different kind of controller that Nintendo calls it the GamePad. It may look like a portable hand held gadget but this serves as a second screen on your video game. For example, when you're seeing the actual gameplay on your TV, the GamePad serves some of your gameplay progress. Really? A controller with a screen on it. I'm fine of having consoles with the barriers between me, my game, and my TV but what Nintendo claims that this GamePad feature breaks the mold between you, your games, and the TV. There are many ways to use this GamePad feature such as viewing your gameplay on your TV and the GamePad, holding it vertically, use its touch screen to control gameplay, or you just wanna play the whole game in your gamepad without the TV. That's very clever and that's witchcraft. So, good job then and for a real surprise, it's BACKWARDS COMPATIBLE!

Why? On the Wii U, you can also use the classic Wii controller for added perspective or if you have some of the Wii controllers in your box, you can use them for multiplayer fun.

There are two sizes on the Wii U. The entry level Wii U called the Basic costs 26,250 Yen and it has about 8GB internal flash memory, plus support for external USB hard drives for additional storage. For hardcore players having their cash burning their pockets, there's the flagship Premium Set which is black-colored, costs 31,500 Yen, and 32GB HDD plus a gamepad stand, gamepad cradle, and a console stand to keep it organized. Built in software includes Nintendo TVii, Wii U Chat, Miiverse, Internet Browser, Mii Maker, Nintendo eShop, and Wii Menu.

Selection of games? At its first day, buyers are opted to check out Wii U games for the first day such as New Super Mario Bros. U, FIFA 13, Mass Effect 3 Special Edition, Monster Hunter 3G HD Edition, Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Assassin's Creed III, ZombiU, and Batman Arkham City Armored Edition. More games such as Call of Duty Black Ops 2, NBA 2K13, Aliens: Colonial Marines, and more will be added later on.

I almost forgot, if you're into internet videos or streaming or whatever suits your fancy, fear not because apps like YouTube, NicoNico, and Hulu are available in the Wii U's e-shop so if you got one, there's a better time to sit down, grab a popcorn and enjoy the movies! (Thumbs up)

This new game console from Nintendo is a sure fire thing to have an invitation to the elite club of video gaming consoles but uh...no. Sadly because the only thing that were accepted to the elite club were the near-decade aged XBOX 360 and the PS3 because despite their age, they've showed how wild, how cool, and how awesome they're offering. The Wii U though is just a different story. What they've should have done is a console that not only has the capabilities of old-school technology with new-generation fun but also the freedom for the players to control. Beneath every serious game creator lies a ten-year-old kid inside, waiting to spur its creativity to make things right.

...It's kid's stuff. It's obvious...

Need for Speed: The RUN

Need for Speed: The RUN

Prepare for the biggest cross-country race from San Francisco to New York that will leave your hearts shattered, sending your minds in spiral, and it will leave you in excessive daydreaming about this greatest battle of your life.

Need for Speed: The RUN, takes players on the role of Jack Rourke, a man who is taking on The RUN, a cross-country race from San Francisco to New York with no rules, no speed limits, zero allies! Be warned. Cops and villains want you dead and the reason why you're taking the risk is because you want to correct the biggest mistake you have done.

This game is all about survival of the fastest. You are Jack's competitive edge and you must take out your rivals in this cross-country bloodbath from The Golden Gate Bridge to The Empire State Building, surviving against the villains who want you dead, the cops who are chasing you, and of course the forces of nature. How far can you survive in this 3000 miles of hell?

The biggest stars of NFS: The RUN are the cars themselves. A half-a-century of cars is all you need if you want to get through New York with a selection of tuners, muscles, and exotics from Europe, America, and Asia. Drift through tight curves with the Toyota AE86, get through straight corners with the Boss 302 Mustang, or go all out with the Bugatti Veyron. There are a selection of cars you want to shove it down your rivals throat either on Story Mode, Challenge Series, or online!

With NFS Autolog, every second counts and Autolog monitors your every progress and see if you are the fastest person who made it from San Francisco to New York. Happily though, you can take photos, challenge against your rivals based on your skill, and show everyone who's boss.

Want to unlock all the cars and challenges but being lazy enough to progress through The RUN? Don't worry though that the Time Savers Pack is coming! The Time Savers Pack is a DLC that allows you to unlock most of the stuff that can be earned through the normal game progression. Maybe here's your chance to try out the Pagani Huayra you're dreaming about?

Don't forget that two Sports Illustrated swimsuit models Irina Shayk and Chrissy Teigen are making special appearances on The RUN because hot cars and women do really have a one-two combo.

NFS The Run stars Sean Faris from The Vampire Diaries as Jack Rourke and Christina Hendricks from Mad Men and Drive as Sam Harper.

LIMITED EDITION:
Want to have the edge to get through New York? NFS The RUN Limited Edition gives you access to the latest vehicles such as the ferocious Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4, the new Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, and for the first time, you can try out the all new 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera S (Type 991)! Exclusive on the PS3 version, you can take advantage of the hottest cars such as the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, Hennessey Venom GT, Gumpert Apollo Sports, Lamborghini Countach QV5000, Koenigsegg Agera R, Lexus LFA, and the Porsche Carrera GT. MW3 spans an globe-trotting warfare from North America to Europe, using the skills you have learned from the past Call Of Duty videogames to blow away the competition. MW3's Spec Ops is back with new challenges and new surprises in order to win credits to buy weapons and parts to customize your favorite weapons from handguns, sub-machine guns, assault rifles, heavy firearms, and more. Also, you can gain experience to gain access to new weapons, air support, and more. There's also a new Survival Mode where you can pit your battle skills to the test against the toughest battlegrounds in MW3 history. Yes, this is how proven if you're a vet or n00b to this game.

Multiplayer plays a big role in the Call Of Duty series and here in MW3, it progresses even further thanks to its new killstreaks, new multiplayer modes, and different ways to play multiplayer challenges by your own rules.

What's new is the Weapon Proficiency and your weapon will grow into something powerful if you use it consistently. This is great for various battles solo or multiplayer.

The MW3 game brings Call of Duty to a whole new level and we are sure that this game succeed more just like last year's blockbuster, Black Ops. What we're hoping for that there will be DLC made for MW3 soon in order to bring maximum fun. You would probably go bonkers to play MW3 and that what's why you should.

007: GoldenEye

007: GoldenEye (2010 version)

If someone remembered the video game based on the hit James Bond movie, GoldenEye, well, the GoldenEye experience we found on the Nintendo 64 is now refreshed, retouched, reloaded, and renewed exclusively on Wii. If you are familiar to the N64 version, then the Wii version carries the same happening from the N64 but now added with even more, including Daniel Craig playing the role of James Bond, and the storyline is written by Bruce Feirstein, the screen writer from the GoldenEye movie. From the dam, the snowy base, frigate, St. Petersburg, the jungle base, to the climactic antenna cradle, experiencing the 2010 video game remake of GoldenEye was never been so nostalgic and nostalgic now redefined.

Split-screen multiplayer (just like in the Nintendo 64 version) is also a nostalgic treat, gather up to four players, play as Bond, the Bond girls, the good guys, or classic Bond villains, classic rules, and everything that can be enjoyable. A four-player deathmatch can be a nostalgic feature, but the brand new online multiplayer is a not-so-nostalgic treat. You can compete against players worldwide and see who's in or out in the battlefield.

You can also use the Nintendo DS for a wide variety of features from solo to multplayer features. This seems new, but being new never been this of a classic.

Fans of the Nintendo 64 game, GoldenEye, might get their heads out with the old and in with the new with this Wii version of GoldenEye. You might recognize what you will do, but think again, everything's new to the classic FPS video game.

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories

The hit 1999 PSOne horror game from Konami, Silent Hill, has just been revisited on the Playstation2, Playstation Portable, and Nintendo Wii gaming consoles and this time, the story where it all began has just been refreshed, renewed, and the quality has just been improved for more thrills, more chills, and more suspense than the PSOne predecessor.

You know the story of the first one, right? It's about Harry Mason, the protagonist of this story, tries to find his daughter after a car accident. Then, he stumbles to the mysterious town called Silent Hill, a place where once you are here, there is no way out.

You might think you have already know the first one, but think again. Silent Hill Shattered Memories is packed with new elements, monstrous foes, and an array of useful gadgets, such as the portable radio (a classic Silent Hill element) that picks up a strange noise when the character is near to the monster, a flashlight allows you to look at places that are to dark to see (useful to find monsters hidden in the dark), and a cellphone that allows you to use its camera feature to seek monsters hidden from the naked eye.

I'm sure when you're playing Silent Hill Shattered Memories, you will experience the thrill from the original predecessor to a completely new level, and once you are hooked to this game, there is no way out until your pants got urinated from the fear caused in this game.

Think you are ready to go back from where it all began? Do it, if you dare.

Note: Silent Hill Shattered Memories is on sale at the U.S. and Europe. Japanese version on sale this March.
