- Following the arrest of FIFA officials in Switzerland over corruption charges, sponsors warn about reviewing ties over their arrest and the football's governing body is due to open its annual congress.

- Malaysian authorities are investigating 12 policemen suspected of involvement in human-trafficking camps found in the northern part of the nation. Four of them had been arrested since early last year during various police investigations.

- The US and the Philippines are going to seek a peaceful solution regarding tensions in the Spratly Islands at the South China Sea. US Defense Secretary Ash Carter met up with his Filipino counterpart Voltaire Gazmin in Hawaii and they agreed to demand an immediate halt to reclamation of reefs around the said island.

- As of now, senators are divided on the constitutionality of the proposed Bangsamoro Basic Law. Yesterday, 12 senators supported the view of the Senate Constitutional Amendments Committee chaired by Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago that the proposed BBL is unconstitutional.
