- Greek PM Alexis Tsipras declared victory in Sunday's referendum that gave his government major public backing for its opposition to the austerity measures proposed by the European Union and other creditors. He said that by opposing the EU's austerity measures, Greece has given his government the strength to negotiate sustainable support measures with the EU.

- Typhoon Egay maintained its strength while moving over Luzon Sea. As of 10:00 PM yesterday, the location of the storm is 125km Southwest of Laoag City in Ilocos Norte. It has maximum sustained winds of 85kph near the center and gustiness of up to 100kph. It is expected to exit the PAR by Thursday morning.

- Pope Francis returns to South America for his tour where he will visit a Bolivian prison, a flood-prone Paraguayan village, and a meeting with grass-roots groups in Bolivia. Crowds will be expected to be large.

- The Maritime Industry Authority was criticized by some groups for alleged negligence in the latest maritime disaster in Ormoc, Leyte, that killed 61 people.

- The Department of Health confirms the second case of MERS in the Philippines and it's a 36-year-old foreigner from the Middle East showed symptoms of the disease and was immediately referred to the DOH.

- Crowds gathered outside Queen Elizabeth II's country residence for the christening of Princess Charlotte, who it was announced will have five godparents.

- A revised Fiat 500 city car has been unveiled with a revised exterior, new interior, and lots of other changes for Italy's favorite city car.
