This is quite a surprise but with the return of Cadillac in the field of endurance racing, it didn't took long until the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing DPI V.R driven by Ricky Taylor, Jordan Taylor, Max Angelelli, and former NASCAR racer Jeff Gordon wins the 2017 IMSA Rolex 24 Hours race at the Daytona International Speedway.

The team, after a grueling 24-hour rain-filled chaos in Daytona, won the endurance race and the new DPi race car from Cadillac nailed a one-two finish with the second one, the number 5, driven by the Mustang Sampling Racing placed 2nd while the #90 Riley driven by the VisitFlorida Racing placed 3rd. The #66 Ford Chip Ganassi Racing GT won the GTLM class of the endurance race, #38 Performance Tech Motorsports ORECA FLM09 won the PC class, and the #28 Alegra Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R won the GTD class.
