FIA Formula E S4: Rome

The ABB FIA Formula E Championship arrived for the first time in Rome, Italy, for the first ever Rome e-Prix, and in this race, the gladiators in racing overalls gathered their chariots of electricity, charging their way to the finish line in this Rome street circuit that was built on a day.

Although this is new in the history of the FIA Formula E Championship, the Rome circuit has became one heck of a treacherous course for some drivers and as demonstrated by a four-car pileup in the early stages, the viewers can really tell just how challenging this new Rome circuit can be. Moving on, as the race progresses, Mahindra's Felix Rosenqvist, which is the first pole positioner of the first Rome ePrix, ran out of juice and he was therefore out of the race. With Rosenqvist out, the race becomes a free-for-all battle royal for all the drivers survived their way to the very end.

At the end of the first-ever Rome ePrix, DS Virgin Racing's Sam Bird wins the race, making it his 7th career win and 13th career podium, with a fastest lap time of 1:38.955. Lucas Di Grassi from Audi Sport placed 2nd and Andre Lotterer from TECHEETAH placed 3rd.

Highlights:

The next race is on Paris, France, on the 28th of April.
