With the combination of 42-point and 20-rebound charge from three-time MVP June Mar Fajardo, and Arwind Santos' 23 points, 11 rebounds, two assists, and four blocks, not to mention efforts from Marcio Lassiter and Chris Ross, the Beermen emerged from a 16-point deficit in the fourth quarter and chewed the Magnolia Hotshots where it really hurts at the double overtime.

The SMB became the first time in history to win four consecutive Philippine Cup titles ever since the legendary Crispa team achieved the same feat in six years.
