- The NCCC Mall Davao, which was engulfed in flames late last December 2017, is set to be demolished on the 19th.

- The Philippine National Police has presented new evidence to pin down self-confessed druglord Kerwin Espinosa. PNP chief Director General Oscar Albayalde said that the new pieces of evidence were submitted to the new panel created by the Department of Justice to handle the case of Espinosa, Peter Lim, Peter Co and other respondents on drug trafficking charges.

- Shipping lines and airlines are now required to submit advance cargo manifest to the Bureau of Customs in a bid to protect the country’s borders from the entry of high-risk cargoes.

- The Moro Islamic Liberation Front called on Muslims to unite in praying for the early passage of the draft Bangsamoro Basic Law as they commence d the Holy Month of Ramadan Thursday, May 17, 2018. MILF Chairman Al Hadj Murad Ebrahim said they are very optimistic that the present administration will fulfill his commitments to the Bangsamoro.

- Israel has launched an overnight air raid on a Hamas facility in Gaza after gunfire from the territory targeted its soldiers and damaged a building. “The Israeli army struck targets belonging to Hamas in the northern Gaza Strip, including terrorist infrastructure and weapons-making facilities,” the military said in a statement.

- The US Senate has passed the joint resolution to undo the FCC's net neutrality repeal. In a statement by former FCC commissioner now Common Cause senior advisor Michael Copps, they have applauded the Senate for passing the bipartisan bill to save net neutrality. He urged the US Congress to do their job and pass this resolution to restore net neutrality.

- PROJECT CARS goes mobile as SlightlyMad Studios announced the first mobile app game of the franchise.

- There's a special Night Edition for the Mercedes-Benz V-Class MPV featuring AMG-inspired exterior cues and black design features.

- Hideki Saijo, singer and actor, passed away at the age of 63.

- Deep Silver announced that the Shenmue III game for the PS4 and PC has been delayed once again, this time to 2019.
