- Ozamiz City councilor Ardot Parojinog is asking for the transfer of his case from the Philippine National Police to the National Bureau of Investigation. PNP chief Director General Oscar Albayalde said this was the latest information his office received since both Filipino police officials and their Taiwanese counterparts could not visit Parojinog who is currently under the custody of Taiwan’s Prosecutors Office.

- Senate minority leader Franklin Drilon expressed hope that the landing of a Chinese military aircraft in Davao City would not happen again. Drilon made the call after MalacaƱang confirmed the landing of the IL-76 from China at the Davao City International Airport and claimed it was a “technical stop” and was cleared by authorities after China requested for landing to refuel.

- President Rodrigo Duterte is hopeful to the passage of the proposed Bangsamoro Basic Law to facilitate the decommissioning of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front's troops and weapons.

- A US judge approved the $85 billion merger of AT&T and Time Warner, delivering a stinging rebuke to Donald Trump’s administration in its first major antitrust court case. Federal Judge Richard Leon said the government had failed to meet its burden of proof that the tie-up between the largest US pay-TV operator and the media entertainment giant would harm competition.

- An Italian cost guard vessel has docked in Sicily with over 900 migrants aboard, evidence that Italy's new anti-migrant government is still taking in some asylum-seekers but is forcing the rest of Europe to accept others.

- A Republican congressman and a Trump critic who survived a sex scandal lost his re-election bid hours after the president launched a scorching personal attack against the lawmaker from his own party. Mark Sanford, who earned national ridicule in 2012 after claiming he was “hiking the Appalachian Trail” when he was really spending time with his Argentine mistress, only to resurrect his political career with a second stint in Congress, crashed to defeat against a far-right challenger endorsed by Trump.

- The US Congress is setting a debate next week on bills aimed at protecting DREAMERs from deportation.

- Formula E driver Nico Prost announced that he will leave the Renault e.dams team after next month's season finale.

- The next generation Volvo S60 will be the first to have its new Polestar Engineered upgrade package.

- The Aston Martin Rapide AMR was unveiled and it will be limited to just 210 models. It will be powered by an improved 6.0L V12 engine producing 603PS of power while mated to an 8-speed Touchtronic III automatic.

- New Nintendo Switch games announced at the E3 2018 such as the new Fire Emblem game, a new Super Smash Bros. game, Super Mario Party, and more.

- Following the Washington Capitals' victory at the Stanley Cup, thousands have marched the capital to celebrate the championship-winning team. The Capitals scored their first win of the franchise after defeating the Las Vegas Golden Knights.
