- The low pressure area prevailing east of the Philippines could enhance the habagat within the next two to three days. According to PAGASA, the LPA was estimated at 1,095 kilometers east of Aparri, Cagayan around Thursday morning.

- Senator Antonio Trillanes IV is not buying the Palace defense of President Rodrigo Duterte's backlash against God and Christianity. For Trillanes, however, such explanation from the administration is yet another attempt to divert the issue. “MalacaƱang is attempting to deceive the public once again. The issue is not about Duterte’s freedom of expression or his freedom to choose his faith. The issue is about Duterte’s gross disrespect and mockery of the Filipino Christians’ faith,” the staunch Duterte critic said in a statement.

- Keeping the Fairy Tail franchise alive, series creator Hiro Mashima unveiled the spinoff manga with Ushio Ando handles the story and art for the new spin-off coming this fall.

- Segun Akinola is named the new series composer for BBC's Doctor Who TV series. He will be replacing long-time composer Murray Gold as in charge of the show's soundtracks.
