F1 2018: Austrian GP

The world maybe paying attention on the World Cup matches but for now, all eyes are on Red Bull Ring for the Austrian GP of the F1 2018 season, where surprises come from every corner and the tables have turned on the drivers themselves.

With both the Mercedes drivers out of the way because of mechanical issues, the race now belongs to Red Bull's Max Verstappen as he surprisingly won the Austrian Grand Prix for the team where it was established from. Also, the two Ferrari drivers, Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel, tasted their podium finish and because of Hamilton out of the picture, Vettel regains his championship lead. At the start of the race, Stoffel Vandoorne of McLaren is feeling the pinch as he collided with Toro Rosso's Pierre Gasly. Meanwhile, at Lap 12, Nico Hulkenberg's car caught fire. And on Lap 54, looks like Daniel Ricciardo's birthday celebration ended in shambles as mechanical issues ended his race.

After Austria, Vettel's back at the top of the leaderboard with a point gap between Hamilton and Raikkonen's now third with 101 points.

The next race is at Silverstone for the British Grand Prix on the 8th of July.
