DTM 2018 Finale

For nine venues, the 2018 Deutsche Touring Meisterschaft Championship features some of the most memorable moments in one of Europe's premiere touring car series and in the finale, held at the Hockenheimring, this year's winner is decided in an epic two-part season finale.

In the first part of the race, Rene Rast, the Audi driver and last year's champion, nicked his fifth DTM win in a row for the 2018 season with Robin Frijns, another Audi driver, finished 2nd and BMW driver Timo Glock placed 3rd. And then, in the final part of the season finale, Rast completes the season with his sixth race win of the season followed by Marco Wittman and Gary Paffett. However, despite being third place in the final part, Gary Paffett is crowned the DTM 2018 champion, marking it his second championship win since 2005.

What a way to say goodbye to Mercedes-Benz after thirty years of DTM involvement and Paffett's championship win served as a fitting send-off for the Silver Arrow.

Congratulations and thanks to Gary Paffett for winning the DTM 2018 and that concludes this season. The race returns in May 2019 and with Aston Martin joining the race next year courtesy of R-Motorsport, the race get even more different than ever so see you next year.
