- The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration denies claims of UP-NOAH Executive Director Mahar Lagmay, that the weather bureau gave “wrong forecasts and late warnings” during the onslaught of Tropical Depression “Usman” last December. In a Facebook post, Lagmay said the “wrong” forecasts caused a number of deaths from landslides and floods triggered by the storm in the Bicol region.

- Brian Velasco, drummer of a rock band Razorback, fell from the balcony of a condominium in Malate, Manila causing his death on Wednesday morning.

- The PDEA has declared that 20 BJMP jails are drug-free. BJMP-National Capital Region (NCR) Director Chief Supt. Ignacio Panti identified the said jails as the Malabon City Jail (both male and female dormitory), Manila City Jail (male and female dormitory), Manila City Jail Annex in Taguig, Manila District Jail Annex 1, Manila District Jail Annex 3, Metro Manila District Jail Annex 5, and Metro Manila District Jail Main.

- An Islamist attack on an upmarket hotel and office complex in the Kenyan capital has left 15 dead, according to police sources. 

- Prime Minister Theresa May will face a confidence vote after MPs overwhelmingly rejected her deal to leave the European Union, leaving Britain with no plan as it hurtles towards Brexit on March 29. May suffered the largest government defeat in modern British history on Tuesday night when the House of Commons rejected by 432 votes to 202 the withdrawal agreement she struck with Brussels late last year.

- 26 people were killed after cattle thieves raided several villages in Nigeria's northern Sokoto state.

- Malaysian carmaker Perodua launched their new Aruz, signaling their return to the SUV market since the Nautica and the Kembara. It will be powered by a 1.5L Dual VVT-i engine and prices start at 72,900 Ringgit.
