Google's Panoramio services to end this November

Google's photo geotagging service, Panoramio, will cease its services after the 4th of November, 2016. Users who linked their Panoramio profile with their Google accounts can access their photos on an Google Album archive and will be added on the Contributions at Google Maps.

About two years ago, Google announced that they will be retiring Panoramio in order to focus on photo-sharing experiences directly inside Google Maps but user feedback prompted to postpone such plans and worked to add features to Maps that better support the level of engagement users enjoyed with Panoramio.

Now, Google will terminate the Panoramio services this November 4, 2016 and Panoramio users, which are linked to their Google accounts, can enjoy Google Maps with its new photo upload tools and Local Guides program. If Panoramio users linked with their Google account, most of the Panoramio photos will be copied to the Google Album Archive and appear in the Maps Contributions panel.

STATEMENT:

Back in 2014, we announced our intention to retire Panoramio in order to invest our efforts into improving photo-sharing experiences directly inside Google Maps. In response to your feedback, we postponed these plans and worked to add features to Maps that better support the level of engagement that you have enjoyed with Panoramio. Today, with photo upload tools in Google Maps and our Local Guides program, we are providing easy ways for you to share your photos with an active and growing community. As such, we’ve decided to move forward with closing down Panoramio. To make this transition easier, we’ll provide several options to continue sharing photos through other services. If you choose, you can also export all your data and take it somewhere else.

If you have linked your Panoramio profile with a Google account, all your Panoramio photos will be copied to the Google Album Archive at full resolution after Panoramio goes away. These copied photos will not use any of your Google storage quota. Your Panoramio photos that appear in Google Maps will continue to appear in Maps, unless you delete them later from the Maps Contributions panel. Note: You must link your Panoramio profile with a Google+ account for your photos to be automatically copied.

After November 4, 2016, you’ll continue to have access to your photos in Panoramio for a year, but you will no longer be able to add new photos, likes, or comments. Below, we’ve included resources to help you manage or export your data.

What's in our Car Town garage today? (February 26, 2013)

What's in our Car Town garage today?

2013 Tesla Model S

What you're looking up here is Motor Trend's 2013 Car of the Year. Reason why Motor Trend picked the Model S as Car of the Year is because by any means of measurement, the Model S is a truly remarkable automobile. It's the first ever 4-door electric saloon car produced in California and it's offered in three battery packs; 40kWh for the base, 60kWh for the midrange, and 85kW-h for the flagship grade. In 85kW-h battery, it develops 270kW of power but for the Performance version, power is now up to 310kW.

2013 Tesla Model S

2008 Aston Martin Vantage

The V8 Vantage is the baby of the Aston Martin lineup and it slots below the V12-powered DB9. It is essentially a production version of the AMV8 Vantage concept car as seen on the 2003 NAIAS. It was powered by a 4.3L V8 engine that develops 380HP of power and 409Nm of torque while the engine was loosely based on Jaguar's AJ-V8 engine architecture. Let's not forget that Jaguar and Aston Martin belonged to Ford at that time, years before the Kuwaitis got Aston Martin and the Indians got Jaguar Land Rover.

2011 Aston Martin V12 Vantage

What happens when you placed the DBS' V12 engine to the V8 Vantage? The result was the V12 Vantage, the high performance big brother of the V8 Vantage and slots near the DBS. Little known fact that Aston Martin used the V12 Vantage for their motorsports racing, from Super GT to the Nurburgring 24 Hours, replacing the DBRS9. Jeremy Clarkson once said that the V12 Vantage is "wonderful, wonderful, and wonderful" in the Series 13 ending of Top Gear even though he told the viewers that cars like these will soon be consigned to the history books thanks to such conditions...

Leopaul's Heaven and Hell: Why do parasites keep tailing my back?

As a techie who spent four years at blogging, I thought that blogging is all fun and games to me because I tend to discuss the latest and the hottest trends and share it to everyone in the world. However, blogging is NOT the easiest thing to do on the internet. First, you have to pick the right audience and then you have to pick the right article for them to read.

One of those things that drove me up the wall here on my blog are the parasites, pests, or vermins that keep attacking or infesting my blog, which is like a computer virus that if prolonged may cause some serious troubles.

Such examples to those pests who kept attacking not just my blog but my analytics were those pests who spent most of the time about car repairs. What is like when some piece of s*** trying to f**k me with queries like for instance replacement for some f****** timing thingy on his/her car, what are the problems of a new model, how to remove audio, engine knock, and the list goes on and on and on and on....

As I told for millions of times, my blog DOES NOT involve car repairs. Do I need to explain that for the million and one time? MY BLOG IS NOT INVOLVED ON CAR MAINTENANCE! Is it clear or do I need to repeat my statement for the 1,000,002th time?! You're making me as sick as hell. SICK AS HELL, you got me?!

Another thing that really irritates me is when idiots can't distinguish between a search engine and a chat box. What the idiots done is turning a search engine into a chat box or comment box and when I checked on my analytics, it was like "WHY DON'T YOU POST A COMMENT YOU LUMP OF S***?!!" This is happening all the time, I can see why there is not even a single comment in my post because they spent time turning Google into a comment or chat box. When will you learn how to post a comment on my site? Come on, it's not that hard!

Also, one such case is some ASEANs trying to obsess with a Japanese minivan that in reality is not available! A-holes...Those a**holes never learned do they? Big M********** a**holes! I'm very pity that why are these trends continue to harvest.

Don't you know what that means? Oh wait, if I post this one and if there's anyone offended, this could be EMERGENCY PROGRAM ONE and yes, I really mean the Doctor Who kind of EMERGENCY PROGRAM ONE. It means that we're in grave danger and I could die or I'm facing death right now but that's okay. EMERGENCY PROGRAM ONE means I'm facing an enemy that they should never ever get their hands on my blog. Whatever you do, let my blog die. Just let this worthless blog gather bugs. No one can access it, no one can even read it. Let it become a bogus blog site made by some worthless human being. And over the years, the world will move on and this blog will be buried. And if you want to remember me, then you can do one thing. That's all. One thing.

Do me a favor readers...Terms like car clubs, bikes, modified cars, car maintenance, tattoos, and anything irrelevant, they are NOT here. That's all. NOT HERE.

Have a fantastic life readers...

Leopaul's Heaven and Hell: A Search engine is not a comments box! No room for question marks! Okay?

Now switching myself into "Columnist Mode" for another Heaven and Hell....

As you may know, search engines such as Google are made to search a specific keyword you're looking. It was made to check on the latest news and information surrounding around you. For me, I used a search engine to search what I'm looking about such as topics for my project, assignment, or anything else.

One of the things that drives me up the wall here in the internet is when every time I checked on my blog's Feedjit and I observe most of the queries that connect to one of my posts, it appears that there are so many idiots who turned search queries into comments that never been posted in my blog. I saw queries like for example "when will this car come out in the philippines?" or "what is the difference between this or that" or "what is the song on the car commercial". I strongly believe that they're not search queries....THEY'RE COMMENTS!!! COMMENTS THAT NEVER BEEN POSTED TO MY BLOG!

How many times do I have to told you that a search query is not a comments box? Ten times? Hundred times? Thousand times? Million times? Maybe more but MOST of you never ever payed attention because you brainless idiots kept doing the same thing. You always kept doing the same thing of turning the search engine into a comments box minus the post. How come my blog doesn't have comments? Oh yeah, because you have kept turning search queries into comments and when I check into my blog's Feedjit or my blog's overview stats, it seems that rarely, queries exceeded the limit because you always keep doing the same thing. Please keep search queries "short but specific". If a search query is a bit TOO LONG, I'm afraid that is not a search query at all but rather a comment that you have to post it on my blog.

I gave you instructions on how to comment in my blog but sadly, none of them believed and just keep doing the internet's most stupid thing; TURNING A SEARCH ENGINE INTO A COMMENTS BOX. Oh come on. Posting a comment wasn't that hard, perhaps you were a big clattering buttock. A BIG CLATTERING A**-HOLE!!!! AM I CLEAR? Do please post a comment. I'm not warning you to do so, I'm stopping mindless people from turning a search engine into a comments box by making up very very long search queries that disturb even the most sophisticated search engine.

As a person in charge of my blog, I am observing different visitors with different behaviors but what I really don't want to see in my blog is visitors who keep doing the wrong things in my blog. People who really have no experience about blogs and people who doesn't have knowledge about the internet. Blogs are made to share your knowledge to everybody else, don't forget that.

Do please, DON'T TURN THE SEARCH ENGINE INTO A COMMENTS BOX BECAUSE OF YOUR VERY VERY LONG SEARCH QUERIES. THERE ARE COMMENTS BOXES ALL OVER MY BLOG.

That is all for this Heaven and Hell article...

Some File-Sharing sites are removing file-sharing services in the wake of the MegaUpload takedown

Megaupload

Time now for the news. Okay, in the wake of the Megaupload takedown last week and the arrest of MegaUpload creator, Kim Dotcom, it seems that most file-sharing sites you know are taking actions. For instance, file-sharing site FileSonic said that "All sharing functionality on FileSonic is now disabled. Our service can only be used to upload and retrieve files that you have uploaded personally." and then, a file locker site "Uploaded.to" restrict North America access respectively. Seems that most of the file-sharing sites like Filejungle, 4shared, and Uploadstation, are removing "Premium Account" services entirely.

Yes I know, it's bad I'm sorry...

Yes I know, it's bad, I'm sorry

Megaupload

Seems that the protest against SOPA and PIPA became highly recognizable and successful but feds can't keep up. Seems that the penalty for a successful protest leads to the closure of a file-sharing site you've already familiar with...MEGAUPLOAD!

Today, Megaupload, one of the world's popular file-sharing service, was shuttered and the founder of Megaupload is charged of facilitating millions of illegal downloads of films, music, and other content. Some say, that caused over $500 million of damages and the creator of Megaupload, Kim Dotcom, as well as other employees were apprehended in New Zealand by request of U.S. officials.

Yes I know. It's bad, I'm sorry...

Leopaul's Heaven and Hell: SOPA Bill. Why do we hate this...

Wikipedia Blackout

Earlier, a popular website, Wikipedia, was one of the websites that commenced a blackout is part of the protest against the most terrifying bill that if once passed, could destroy the internet for real. That bill was known to be the SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) Bill.

The SOPA Bill and the PIPA (Protect IP Act) Bill are the kind of bills that can destroy the internet and lose more jobs quickly when voted by the Senate this January 24. I don't exactly know what are these but these two bills made me scared and if implemented, my blog would become extinct and I could get locked up in jail just like a bunch of Japanese people who got jailed for unauthorized downloads via Share file-sharing software. Still, it could be worse, I want to get out from the USA and hide myself from the law.

Here's a clip of how SOPA or PIPA works:

Scary, right? Especially YouTube is not safe here. For instance, I upload some video in YouTube, then I often leave a message saying "NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED", it's still not working even with that magic word and this whole "Matched Third-Party Content" is annoying especially for a car addict like me who loves car commercials. It's true. SOPA and PIPA destroys free speech and it is the violation of the First Amendment, the right of free speech.

SOPA and PIPA could make the world economy even worse. The Strong Yen, Euro debt crisis, SOPA and PIPA bills can't solve those and that's why these bills won't work in the fight against online piracy. This is a load of rubbish, ladies and gentlemen. This would be much worse than a bunch of MMDA men demolishing shanties around the metro. Pretty soon, The Stig will have nothing to hear it when he was testing new cars round the Top Gear Test Track, as long as the new car has a stereo on it.

That's why I'm one of the million people who hates SOPA and PIPA bills as long as we keep fighting. All is not lost for us and we still have plenty of time to stop it.

We're hoping to have the very best we can't to save the internet from the dreaded SOPA and PIPA bills that if once passed, would cause the internet to become extinct and economies will took on a nosedive. What's worse, it will not solve the Euro debt problem. Thank You and keep on fighting.

Leopaul's Heaven and Hell: Why you guys love wallpapers?

Many people are looking for wallpapers on the internet to set it as a desktop background. Just so why are most of the internet illiterates often get hooked on finding wallpapers of their favorite interests? As most internet surfers are often hooked on photos, the most favorite things to do on their computer is set most of the big pictures as desktop background to make it more interesting when the next time they logged on their computers.

What with? Most? I'm sorry but why are you guys looking for wallpapers? My blog has a "no wallpaper policy" but most people often ignoring my warning and continue looking for something that I don't have. Most of you looking for some wallpapers of your favorite anime, video game, car, movie, celebrity, anything goes but that's too annoying. What even worse are some HD wallpapers to fit it nicely on their big laptops or big PCs. As a blogger, I don't feature wallpapers for your stupid pleasure because why? You often done a bit "search overload".

Those internet surfers who are obsessed with wallpapers should have been "tortured to death" but that's just my metaphor. A horribly weak metaphor to suggest people to stop searching for free HD wallpapers for their time-wasting pleasure. Guess this whole "wallpaper" idea could waste space and causing jams on the internet ecosystem. How bad was that? But not most are bad because official websites often offer wallpapers just for fun. The Japanese Toyota webpage, for example, has wallpapers of their current cars on their lineup for keeps, which is not kinda bad.

I don't seek wallpapers to be rubbish but if it's one too many visitors looking for wallpapers based on their interests, that will be rubbish. Seems that I'm back from where I'm all started...

That's all I can tell. See you next time...

Google Let It Snow Easter Egg

Let It Snow

As heard from most sources, when most people typed "Let It Snow" at Google, what they'll be experiencing that the Google page drops snow and then it got covered in snow until they clicked the "Deforst" button to remove the snow. No wonder there's another Google easter egg happened since the "Do A Barrel Roll" part.

YouTube revamps

When you log in to YouTube, you will be greeted by its new look. That new look made "Channels" occupy the middle column of your YouTube page. At the right, you can see recommended videos based on your uploads, likes, and favorites. Seems that channels are now playing bigger role on this refresh and as of now, there are new analytics that can check your uploaded video's stats.

Only in the Philippines - When DPWH men takes on the world

DPWHERE?

On the lighter side, there was a group of Photoshopped photos that has three DPWH officials on it, which was sourced from a photo where they were investigating the damage on Roxas Blvd because of the typhoon.

So far, the photoshopped photos containing three DPWH officials became a hit on forums, Facebook, blogs, and others! It doesn't matter where are these three DPWH are; good, bad, ugly, historical, beautiful, wacky, hilarious, pulse-pounding, doesn't matter where are these three went.

Like for instance, those three DPWH officials became part of Philippine history, World Wars, sports, Hollywood movies, Philippine TV dramas, video games, anime, famous paintings, cover albums, music videos, and others. These photoshopped photos under the banner "DPWHERE" became a viral sensation! You wouldn't believe how good these three meets up with "pop culture".

Check out the gallery of the adventures of DPWH members:

Official! Globe discontinues Tattoo Tonino Lamborghini Stick!

Globe Tattoo Tonino Lamborghini stick

Globe Telecom officially announce that they will discontinue the sale of the Globe Tattoo Tonino Lamborghini Stick during the recent scandal between Globe Telecom and fashion firm Tonino Lamborghini.

Well said, Globe spokesperson said that this company stop marketing and selling this high-speed broadband stick with HSPA+ (High Speed Packet Access-plus) technology. This shouldn't be a problem because Globe continues to sell normal Tattoo broadband sticks while resolving the copyright infringement case.

Good thing I did not have this one and if I do, I would get caught by the Italian authorities. Lucky for some, they didn't have one because either they have normal Globe Tattoo broadband sticks or probably because they have something way faster than Globe Tattoo...it's SMART BRO Plug-Its (from Starter, Power, to the flagship Rocket Plug-It).

Unlawful Collaboration?!

Globe Tattoo Tonino Lamborghini

Hey guys! Does any keep on using Globe Tattoo Tonino Lamborghini? Bad news, an Italian fashion firm (not to be confused with an automobile maker behind the Miura, Countach, Diablo, Murcielago, and the latest Aventador), Tonino Lamborghini declared that the Globe Tatto Tonino Lamborghini is FAKE!

According to the press release, Tonino Lamborghini called the Globe Tattoo Tonino Lamborghini a fake and it has done unauthorized use. Also, the advertising with Swiss-Filipino racer, Marlon Stockinger, and the tagline "Feed Your Need For Speed" was too deceitful and unlawful and it created confusion between Tonino Lamborghini (fashion brand) and Automobil Lamborghini S.p.A. (automobile manufacturer). Oh my gosh, STAR CONFUSION!

Earlier, Globe Telecom informed its Facebook fans that they have authorized use of the Tonino Lamborghini name and logo via Primo Mobile, a Singaporean company Globe claims to be that they're the master license and franchise but Tonino Lamborghini denied Globe's purpose.

Tonino Lamborghini informed its Facebook fans that Primo Mobile is only granted a trademark license, not as a master license and franchise. They said that the license agreement was terminated by Tonino Lamborghini a long time ago....

Uh-oh.....

WHAT? Facebook like button is illegal?

If you live in a country like Germany, chances are that the world-famous Like Button from Facebook is considered illegal, according to Thilo Weichert from the data protection center of the northern German state of Schleswig-Holstein.

He said that Facebook can trace every click on a website and all of the information was sent to this even if someone is not a member of Facebook.

According to reports, he demanded websites in Schleswig-Holstein to take away this "LIKE BUTTON" before the end of September 2011 or else, pay the fine of 50,000 Euros (72,000 dollars or about an estimate of 3.5 million Pesos), which sounds painful!

Press Release:

Facebook reject's Weichert's claims because the Like Button and other apps are complied in European Union data protections standard. The Like button only collects the IP addresses of non-users and information is deleted after 90 days (about three months?).

Why would a country like Germany would do these?!

Juana Change takes satirical aim on PNoy's Porsche?

Looks like the "PNoy's Porsche" is somewhat a so-called HOT ISSUE but a political satirist named Juana Change (Mae Paner) pokes fun on PNoy's Porsche.

What a hilarious take on the President's upcoming sports car that caused a hot issue all over the Philippines.

Heh, looks like a Presidential Porsche got us spilled on that satire but I'm sure this satire pokes fun on this...HOT ISSUE.

The videos from scam sites (From acai berry scams to white teeth scams)

“Skeptical? I Don't Blame You. I Felt The Same Way."

According to the dictionary, the word "skeptical" is showing doubt. Why do these scam sites trigger the word "skeptical" when we leave the site?

Is it because we are trying to be seduced by these scams? What's the big point? When you are leaving a scam site, a pop-up appeared saying "WAIT!" or "Don't leave yet" or "Skeptical?", just ignore it and leave. I know these keep happening a lot.
