North Korean leader Kim Jong-un met with Chinese leader Xi Jinping to brief on the results of his summit with US President Donald Trump. According to the Chinese state-run media, Kim Jong-un visited China and sat down for talks with XI Jinping on Tuesday - for the third time in less than three months.
President Xi praised Kim for his recent summit with US President Trump and expressed hope that the two can carry out their agreement. But at the same time, he stressed the North Korean leader's three visits to China show that Pyongyang puts great importance on its strategic relations with Beijing.
President Xi added China will remain committed to Pyongyang to solidifying its ties with the North regardless of whatever changes take place on the international and regional front. Kim responded by saying that he is willing to develop Pyongyang-Beijing relations to another level.
He expressed thanks to China for securing peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and added he hopes to work with Beijing for more.

In the weekly forum Kapihan sa Manila Bay on Wednesday, Puyat reiterated that the contract on the competition is under review because the payment should not be in dollars.
- The United States has withdrawn from the UN Human Rights Council, calling it a "cesspool of political bias". The "hypocritical and self-serving" body "makes a mockery of human rights", said US envoy to the UN Nikki Haley.
- Torrential rain is hitting the island of Kyushu in southwestern Japan. The Meteorological Agency has issued a landslide warning for some areas of Oita and Kumamoto prefectures in northern and central Kyushu. They say southern Kyushu may also be hit by torrential rain through Thursday evening.

China's state run CCTV reported that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is in China. The brief report announced at 1000 hours local time did not provide further details on Kim's purpose.
However, the news was expected as several reports from numerous media outlets have already hinted of possibilities for the visit. Earlier, sources within the aviation industry say a special place, carrying the logo of North Korea's state airline Air Koryo, departed Pyongyang a little before 0930 hours Korea time.
Japan's Nikkei newspaper also reported this morning that Kim had been preparing for a trip to China as early as today to brief his Chinese counterpart on the Singapore summit with US President Donald Trump. If Kim visits Beijing, it would be his third trip to China this year alone following the ones in March and May when he meet Xi.
The newspaper said that Kim would use the trip to share the details on the summit and discuss bilateral cooperation with China going forward.

- Beijing accused Donald Trump of “blackmail” and warned it would retaliate in kind after the US president threatened to impose fresh tariffs on Chinese goods, pushing the world’s two biggest economies closer to a trade war. Trump said on Monday he had asked the US Trade Representative to target $200 billion worth of imports for a 10 percent levy, citing China’s “unacceptable” move to raise its own tariffs.
- Australia pledged to provide Pacific nations with better funding to counter Chinese development money which it fears will leave some countries with massive debt burdens and undermine their sovereignty.
- Thailand carried out their first execution since 2009, according to the Department of Corrections, killing a 26-year-old convicted murderer in a move condemned by Amnesty International as “deplorable”. Theerasak Longji, 26, was killed by lethal injection, six years after he was convicted of murder in Trang province. The execution comes with Thai coup leader Prayut Chan-O-Cha set to travel abroad to the United Kingdom and France.
- Apple fined AU$9 million by an Australian court for making false claims about consumer rights when refusing to fix faulty iPhones and iPads previously repaired by a third party. Customers of the US tech giant had complained to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission after an operating system update disabled their devices in a global issue known as “error 53”.
- Rupert Stadler, the current CEO of Audi, was arrested over fears of the Dieselgate coverup, based on reports. Stadler’s arrest was confirmed by a spokesperson of the greater Volkswagen Group, adding that the presumption of innocence applied to his case. Audi had no immediate comment regarding the arrest, and Stadler himself as well as Munich prosecutors were not immediately available for comment.

Officials from South and North Korea is meeting to discuss sports cooperation today. The inter-Korean sports talks started at around 1000 hours local time at the Peace House, located within the truce village of Panmunjom.
Today's discussions are focused on boosting sports exchanges between the two Koreas. The key agendas include joint participation by the two Korea at the 2018 Asian Games and inter-Korean basketball matches.
The South Korean delegation is being led by Jeon Choong-ryul, Secretary General of the Korean Sport and Olympic Committee. The North Korean delegation is being led by Vice Sports Minister Won Kil-u.
The talks are part of ongoing efforts by the two Koreas to implement the Panmunjom Declaration from the April 27th inter-Korean summit. The agreement to hold the talks came after high-level officials from South and North Korea met at Panmunjom last month.
Meanwhile, the two Koreas will mainly talk about joint participation in the upcoming 2018 Asian Games in Indonesia, which will kick off this August. They will also talk about whether they will march under the Korean Unification Flag.

The House of Representatives has announced that it would move for the rejection of the Comelec’s budget for 2019 if the poll body would not replace Smartmatic as its VCM provider.
- A strong M6.1 quake rattled Osaka at around 0758 hours local time. The epicenter of the quake was in the northern part of the area at a depth of 13km, according to the Japanese Meteorological Agency. No tsunami warning was issued. Right now, three people are reportedly killed while 200 are injured during the quake and multiple aftershocks followed.
- Democrats and activists are rallying against US President Donald Trump's practice of separating children from their parents at the US-Mexico border. The events came as news stories highlighting the family separations intensified political pressure on the White House, even from some of President Donald Trump’s fellow Republicans.

History has finally made at the 2018 24 Hours of Le Mans race, which is part of the 2018-2019 WEC Superseason as Toyota Gazoo Racing proudly waved the Japanese flag by honoring their first ever Le Mans win in history.

The #8 Toyota Gazoo Racing TS050, piloted by Formula 1 driver Fernando Alonso, Formula E driver Sebastien Buemi, and Kazuki Nakajima, made a historic victory at Le Mans while the #7 TS050 managed to place 2nd place with a lap behind it. This marks the second time a Japanese carmaker won Le Mans since the legendary Mazda 787B and the first time a Japanese driver became part of the Le Mans-winning team.
The #3 Rebellion Racing became the only non-hybrid LMP1 car to join the podium after finishing 3rd.
Behind Toyota's historic victory, the #26 G-Drive Racing, driven by Roman Rusinov, Andrea Pizztola, and TECHEETAH Formula E driver Jean-Eric Vergne, won the LMP2 class while the #36 Signatech Alpine Matmut placed 2nd and the #39 39 Graff-S024 team placed 3rd.
Porsche remains the king of Le Mans, only in GTE Pro class, with their pink-colored #92 Porsche GT won the class followed by the #91 Porsche GT team and the #68 Chip Ganassi Racing Ford GT. In the GTE Am class meanwhile, the #77 Dempsey-Proton Racing Team 911 RSR won the class while the #54 Spirit of Race 488 GTE placed 2nd and the #85 Keating Motorsports 488 GTE placed 3rd.
The 2018 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship continues somewhere throughout the Outback in the Hidden Valley Raceway for the CrownBet Darwin Triple Crown event and over the course of two races this weekend, the Outback just never felt so alive when these racing drivers come across Darwin to see who comes on top.
Beginning with what happened on the first race, a last minute attempt by Scott McLaughlin made him win the opener after beating the likes of title rivals Shane van Gisbergen and David Reynolds by 1.2 seconds at the line. Then, at the chaotic latter half of the event, not to mention smoke pouring at the back of McLaughlin's car and the late Safety Car deployment that could cost him valuable time, David Reynolds of Erebus Motorsport nicked his second win of the season.
So far, after the race, Scott McLaughlin still leads the leaderboard with 1775 points while Shane Van Gisbergen is 161 points behind him and David Reynolds' in third place with 1,448 points.
The next race is the Watpac Townsville 400 on the 6th to the 8th of July, 2018.
