THREATS FROM NORTH KOREA: UK and Germany say sanctions need to be in place until North Korea takes concrete steps

The UK and Germany have reiterated their stance that sanctions will need to be in place until North Korea takes complete denuclearization measures.

Radio Free Asia reported that this was the outcome of the meeting between Washington's Special Representative for North Korea Stephen Biegun and his British, German and French counterparts on Tuesday.

The British foreign affairs ministry told R.F.A. that it will continue to support Washington's efforts to achieve North Korea's denuclearization.

Germany's foreign ministry called upon the North to commit to complete, verifiable and irreversible denuclearization, and added that unless there are concrete steps towards that, sanctions will remain in place.

North Korea's ambassadors to China, Russia and the UN arrived in Pyeongyang on Monday, raising questions on why these diplomats had to return so suddenly.

According to sources, the envoys were spotted at Beijing Capital International Airport on Monday, heading to the North Korean capital.

A source says their return could be linked to an annual meeting of overseas diplomatic mission chiefs.

But some watchers believe that,... as China, Russia and the UN play a key role in UN Security Council discussions on international sanctions against the regime, North Korea could be reviewing its strategies on how to deal with the sanctions as well as set up plans on nuclear negotiations with the U.S.

South Korea's Blue House says it has never proposed to the U.S the idea of holding trilateral talks with North Korea.

A local media outlet recently reported that the South Korean government offered the idea as a means to bring the North back to the negotiating table.

However, Blue House Spokesperson Kim Eui-kyeom told reporters in a text message on Wednesday, that the report is inaccurate, adding that there are no plans for such a proposal.

The report also said that National Security Advisor Chung Eui-yong proposed the North's step-by-step denuclearization during a phone conversation with his U.S. counterpart John Bolton last week.

To that, Kim said he cannot reveal the details of what was discussed.

The National Assembly will continue with its parliamentary questioning session this afternoon, focusing on foreign affairs, unification and security.

One area of debate will likely be South Korea's next move following the breakdown of the second North Korea-U.S. summit.

The ruling party is expected to highlight Seoul's increased role in the wake of the no-deal Hanoi summit, and stress the need for dialogue between the two Koreas.

But the conservative opposition will likely criticize the government's soft stance towards North Korea, and question North Korea's sincerity in regards to complete denuclearization.

Forza Horizon 4: A true British icon

Only a handful of car enthusiasts who had proper knowledge to British car history can wield the power of the legendary Bentley 8-Litre, undoubtedly a true British icon in its own right, and since I got my hands on this legend by clearing the British Racing Green story on Forza Horizon 4, I might as give this one a spin to explain what's what.

Launched in 1930, the 8-Litre is known to be the largest and most luxurious Bentley at its time but sadly, it was launched at the time of the Great Depression which led to the poor demand to this car, leading to a change in ownership of Bentley. With that, only 100 units have been made for a span of two years.

The namesake 6-cylinder engine was known to be the largest engine of any car available in the UK at that time and it features an Elektron crankcase and magnesium alloy, capable of producing 200 to 230hp of power, which is very powerful at that time. True to W.O. Bentley's claim that he made a "dead silent 100mph" car, the folks from Autocar pushed the 8-Litre to the limit and reached a max speed of 101.12mph.

Little did you know that the 8-Litre bearing chassis YF 2002 and registered plate number GK 706 is W.O. Bentley's personal vehicle. He sold his car during the Great Depression when Bentley Motors was taken over by its new ownership but at the Bentley Drivers' Club, he and his beloved 8-Litre that he sold were reunited. In 2006, the VW Group-owned Bentley managed to restored W.O.'s 8-Litre and it has became a symbolic "company car" for each successive Bentley CEO, preserving the tradition that dates back to W.O.'s ownership of the said car.

Reading the whole story of the Bentley 8-Litre made me touched about the founder who sold off his personal Bentley but then reunited and then handed over to every Bentley boss, labeling it the CEO's company car. That legendary machine really is special for someone who's in charge of Crewe's finest and by experiencing it behind the wheel, you can really tell just how the 8-Litre's been through as the dead silent 100mph grand tourer.

Although it is basically sluggish on the acceleration and too heavy on the handling department, those bits won't stop me from experiencing what's like to be in the Bentley CEO's personal vehicle that has been passed down for present generations. Speaking of which...

I decide to take this British icon for a wild ride through the beachside, showcasing this British icon just how much of a beast this 8-litre is. If I was taking this one in a middle of a big adventure like the Peking to Paris one, it would be a blast but this isn't Peking to Paris. This is the United Kingdom and anything can happen in a blink of an eye so let's get this thing rolling.

There was some rubbing occurred but it's safe to say that the Bentley 8-Litre managed to shine through the forest like it was rushing through the end of the Peking to Paris event.

The Bentley 8-Litre; a dead silent 100mph grand tourer with unparalleled power underneath its monster of a engine. It was W.O. Bentley's personal car which was separated during the Depression but then reunited and then restored to be handed over to successive Bentley CEOs from the present and to the future. This machine really is a true British icon that only a handful of car enthusiasts who had proper knowledge to British car history can wield it. So, now that I had my time with the 8-Litre, I must keep going for as the journey continues...

THREATS FROM NORTH KOREA: Pres. Moon urges cabinet to concentrate on reviving manufacturing industry

It was reported South Korean President Moon Jae-in is being briefed by the Prime Minister on a series of government ministries and institutions this morning-- including the Ministers of finance, foreign, unification and SMEs and startups.

In the meantime, President Moon Jae-in has urged his government to revive the country's manufacturing industry.

At Tuesday's cabinet meeting, he said it is a relief that some key economic figures, including employment, have seen an upward trend recently.

But he also said the manufacturing industry remains a big problem for the South Korean economy.

He also called for faster distribution of eco-friendly vehicles, as well as highlighting the importance of new industries.

Officials the meeting were also briefed on the results of President Moon's three-nation ASEAN tour.

He emphasized the need for joint efforts with ASEAN nations for an era of co-prosperity.

South Korea's National Assembly kicks off its first interpellation session of 2019 today.

Over the next four days, rival lawmakers will be grilling top government officials on a wide range of topics from politics and foreign affairs to the economy.

America's top diplomat is stressing that North Korea and the United States are still working hard to open a more promising future for the North, despite the breakdown of their recent summit in Hanoi.

In an interview with KCMO, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said Pyeongyang and Washington are trying to get the " sequencing" right in talks to end the North's nuclear weapons program while at the same time opening a brighter future for the state.

His remarks on Monday came in the wake of North Korea's threat to walk away from the talks as the regime called for a step by-step dismantlement of its nuclear program in exchange for U.S. concessions including sanctions relief.

When asked about the failure to produce an agreement at last month's North Korea-U.S. summit in Hanoi, Pompeo said he could not say much about the details of the negotiations as they were "important private conversations", but did say it had to do with a range of issues around the timing and sequencing of how denuclearization is to be achieved.

However Pompeo remains optimistic over the prospect of achieving the complete denuclearization of the Korean peninsula, despite the recent setback in Vietnam.

He said conversations will certainly continue, noting it was North Korean leader Kim Jong-un's "promise" to the world at his first summit with President Trump in Singaporethat the North will indeed abandon its nuclear weapons program.

South Korean Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha says both Seoul and Washington believe a comprehensive roadmap is necessary in their nuclear talks with North Korea.

At the National Assembly on Monday, Seoul's top diplomat said it means starting thefull-fledged denuclearization process with a "big picture" to deal with all elements related to the North's nuclear facilities and its capabilities.

Kang also emphasized Seoul's role in facilitating talks between the two sides,... adding that sending a special envoy to North Korea may be an option.

Kang also agreed that holding another inter-Korean summit could help to revitalize denuclearization talks.

BMW Z4 G29 vs. 8-Series Cabrio G14

BMW shook the world with the introduction of the new, third-generation, Z4 G29 roadster, and this new model is starting to regain its true form as a no-frills open-top sportscar that caters to even the most discerning car enthusiasts everywhere. So, what's it all about?

2020 BMW Z4
2020 BMW Z4

So this is the all-new BMW Z4 and what's not to like about the all-new model that is better than the previous Z4? The first Z4 is heavily made for the heartthrobs trying to woo the ladies with its sportscar charms that match the macho men of today while the second Z4 takes a more sensible approach with no hardcore stuff in sight. This new Z4 though is starting to return to its true form in new and exciting ways to entice Bimmer drivers that this is the sportscar to go for despite the Axis Powers connection between this car and a certain Japanese maker I can't spit it out until later.

First and foremost, the design, and while it draws inspiration from the concept car as seen from the 2017 Concours d'Elegance at Pebble Beach, the exterior design feels a bit more toned down compared to the concept but while it has some ups and downs its design process, it still appeals like the first Z4 made and by such demand, the soft-top roof that was absent from the previous model returns and it can be folded up or down in approximately ten seconds even while cruising on residential zones. With or without the roof, the new Z4 really shows its sportscar charisma, making it the ideal head-turner on the road.

2020 BMW Z4 interior

On the inside, the driver-focused interior really matches the Z4's charisma although most speedo boys will be having a hard time getting used to the new dashboard layout, the two-zone climate control, the Harman Kardon surround sound system, ambient lighting, and other high-tech stuff but as long as they're not bothering with any of the dashboard stuff, the true beauty of the Z4 lies within its driving experience.

2020 BMW Z4

The new Z4's starting price is 40.950 Euros for the base sDrive20i Advantage Steptronic, the one with the 197PS 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo engine mated to an 8-speed Steptronic with 7,3 l/100km of fuel economy on the WLTP scale combined but to get the most out of the new Z4, there's the high-end M40i variant, priced at 60,950 Euros, with the 3.0L BMW TwinPower Turbo engine producing 340PS of power, 500Nm of torque, and when mated to the same gearbox I mentioned above, it does 0-100kph in 4.5 seconds and electronically limited to 250kph.

Apart from the engines, the new Z4 is becoming more enjoyable to drive thanks to its new chassis design as well as its new suspension setup comprising of a double-joint spring strut axle at the front and a five-link rear axle, a first for a BMW roadster. With this setup as well as its lightweight design, the optimal weight distribution makes it a more enjoyable car to drive full-stop, not to mention its dramatic braking feel thanks to its lightweight braking system and other useful features, including the Performance Control function. In the M40i variant, however, this is a completely different story thanks to its M Sport differential, Adaptive M Sport suspension, M Sport brakes, and high-performance tires stuff like these makes it more like getting jabbed by a sweaty high-school girl several times. That hurts but that experience really makes it special.

So, the new BMW Z4 really is a driver's car that appeals just like the original but drives in a way it hasn't done before but for some gentlemen drivers, the new Z4 is much of a fluke because they had something better than the new Z4.

2019 BMW 8-Series Cabriolet
2019 BMW 8-Series Cabriolet

What this is is the new 8-Series Convertible, an open-top version of what is known to be the successor to the old 6-Series and since today's 8-Series is now based on the current 5-Series, it wasn't made to compete against grand tourers like the Bentley Continental GT. In fact, this is now an unrivaled grand tourer in its class, and for this convertible version, you can expect the same choice of engines as the coupe equivalent but the V8-powered M850i Cabrio with the 530PS 4.4L V8 Bi-Turbo is the only choice they had because the diesel variants are not friendly to European drivers right now.

2019 BMW 8-Series Cabriolet interior
2019 BMW 8-Series Cabriolet interior

Of course, while this is basically heavier not just the hardtop equivalent but also the new Z4 because it has an xDrive all-wheel-drive system and the same 8-speed Steptronic as the new Z4, not to mention every M Sport stuff mentioned above for the M850i variant, the new model chews the Z4 for breakfast, lunch, and tea, not because it has a 0-100kph time of 3,9 seconds but only because it has a lot of traction and grip to cleanly get past the Z4 like it was nothing happened. What a trump card this grand tourer has and unlike the Z4, this has two extra seats in the back but sadly, it's hard to squeeze through, meaning only your peripherals can fit into the rear seats following your trips to the rummage sale.

So, there we are, the 8-Series Cabriolet is by no means the ideal open-top BMW fit for gentlemen drivers everywhere but because of the 108,000 Euro price tag, looks like the Z4 wins because you can afford two for the price of one 8-Series Cabriolet while having some spare change for some stuff to do.

The new Z4 is all about delivering old-school thrills to its new form while the new 8-Series Convertible is a grand tourer that handles almost everything on the road and on the track but either way, these new models will make the grand tour more interesting in the spring season and we can't blame either of these two for what they are capable of. Still, even though the new 8-Series Convertible's got the muscle for its start dash sensation, the new Z4 is still the best pick not only it's cheaper than the 8-Series Convertible but also much more enjoyable to drive full stop.

THREATS FROM NORTH KOREA: Lee Do-hoon heads to Russia for talks on Hanoi summit

South Korea's nuclear envoy Lee Do-hoon will be embarking on a two-day trip to Russia on Monday afternoon to discuss the outcome of the Hanoi summit with his Russian counterpart.

Lee is set to meet with Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov on Tuesday, where the two will exchange their takes on the summit's results and Lee will seek cooperation from the international community for these negotiations.

This trip to Russia comes amid Pyeongyang and Moscow's efforts to boost economic and humanitarian cooperation.

The North's state-run Korea Central News Agency reported Sunday that the two sides will actively promote coordination on those fronts, agreed during North Korean delegation's visit to Russia last week.

The two sides also signed a deal on their plans for exchanges in 2019 and 2020.

South Korea's Ministry of Defense says it plans to hold a ministerial-level meeting with China for the first time in over a year-and-a-half in May... as part of efforts to promote communication and normalize relations after a diplomatic row stemming from Seoul's deployment of the U.S. THAAD missile defense system.

During a briefing to the National Defense Committee on Monday, the ministry said it'll also be participating in a repatriation ceremony on April 3rd for Chinese soldiers killed during the Korean War.

South Korea is also having a joint army meeting with Japan this month.

South Korea's foreign minister and her Libyan counterpart are meeting for talks at the government complex in Seoul.

Kang Kyung-wha and Mohamed Ta-ha Si-a-la are likely to discuss issues surrounding the Korean peninsula and the Middle East.... and share ideas on how the two countries can cooperate more in the future.

However, the top agenda will be the abduction of a Korean man alongside three Filipino men in Libya last year.

An un-identified armed group have been holding the men captive for almost nine months now.

Kang is expected to ask for the Libyan government's best efforts so the abductee can return home safely as soon as possible.

President Moon Jae-in will focus his attention this week on vitalizing the sluggish South Korean economy.

On Wednesday, the president will be briefed by the finance minister on the state of the economy and ways to turn it around.

The president will attend an event on Thursday where he will listen to the opinions of South Korea's various business circles.

He's also due to travel to local regions outside of Seoul for the seventh time since he took office to help support regional economies and promote shared growth.

Guinness Six Nations 2019 FINAL

This is where it all ends as the final round of the Guinness Six Nations, which is feared to be the last Six Nations season before the imminent Brexit, will determine who will be crowned the Grand Slam winner and with the WRU leading ahead of England Rugby and IRFU, this is the finale to decide whether or not the WRU will be crowed Grand Slam champions.

The Guinness Six Nations finale sees the FIR Italia taking on France at Stadio Olimpico, WRU taking on the IRFU at the Principality Stadium, and the England Rugby taking on Scotland at the Twickenham Stadium. Focusing on the Wales V Ireland match as usual, the ideal orchestration of the WRU in the opening kick-off led them to a saturated charge for the victory and with Gareth Anscombe became unstoppable on the penalty and on the conversion, the Welsh successfully defeated the Irish at the score of 25-7.

Meanwhile, the FFR defeated the FIR Italia at the score of 25-14 while the match between England Rugby and Scotland ended in a tie with both scoring 38.

After five rounds on this season, the WRU has crowned as Guinness Six Nations Grand Slam champions. Wales are now officially a four-time Grand Slam champions in the Six Nations era, breaking a tie with France on three for the most by any country.

That Six Nations era became one heck of a championship for England, Wales, Scotland, France, Italy, and Ireland to show Europe which country has the best rugby players and now that Brexit's upon us, the fate of the Six Nations games becomes uncertain but rest assured that everyone had a lot of good memories in rugby's greatest championship.

Thank you, Six Nations Rugby! Hope we'll see you on the other side.
